It's giving '90s, early 2000s girl group! Like TLC or Atomic Kitten! Girl groups back then had a mellow type of sound combined with very meaningful lyrics. I love it, so I'm glad it's getting a bit of a resurgence through aespa.
Ever since I heard "Lucid Dream," I knew aespa was capable of pulling off those '90s, early 2000s vibes. I hope they dive deeper into that for their next release. This was a great choice for an all-English song.
It didn't sound like the English version of a K-pop song. It just sounded like a '90s western girl group song. I'm not saying that's good or bad; it's just an observation.
