but I've seen peoole here talking about this and barely mentioned g-idle before
probablu cuz of the gidle hiatus and drought and people sometimes forget about gidle, and other groups gaining for spotlight such as aespa itzy etc
or the fact that people dont know gidle is 4th gen group, sometimes people mistaken them for 3rd gen

I think that's more because of a long period of inactivity, like often happens when groups are between comebacks and nothing much else is happening: K-pop fans will talk less and less about a group, the longer the low activity period lasts.

They've always been. Those who use to disagree either: consider they're not 4th gen; or think they're not good enough because they have not charted Top 10 for 5 years straight or something like that, all other achievements be damned.
But yes, of course they are. They don't get collabs and featurings left and right just because.

'Cause people are hypocrites and have short memories. Some here claim to be GI-DLE fans but were the first to throw them under the bus.
When the charts get good everyone becomes a fan again and the group becomes the best group in the world and it's the same for all the groups.

They debuted in 2018. Stray Kids also debuted in 2018 and are considered 4th gen.

Soyeon's JELLY is barely considered a debut song. It was more a pre-debut aimed at keeping Soyeon's name around after P101 and UPR3 and building anticipation for Gidle's debut. Her second MV 'Idle song' is even more of a teaser for her soon-to-debut group.
So I'm not sure it's enough to consider her as 3rd gen idol. And even if you do, what about the other members?
