Okay, I'll admit it. When I first got into kpop, I wasn't digging it. I mean, I thought a little guyliner was cool and all, but the full blown eyeshadow, lipstick, and especially blush was hard for me to get used to. I didn't think there was anything wrong with it, it just wasn't my preference or what I was used to. They're just not common looks for male celebs in my neck of the woods. Coupled with the sometimes over the top styling and I thought the looks were just a little extravagant.
Now tho? I love it. Omg, I love kpop makeup and styling for shows and videos as long as they fit the concept. I also think that a little bit of makeup looks great outside of performance too. I do love seeing gorgeous, natural, bare-faced idols as well (male and female), but seeing them made up and rocking great looks appeals to me now too.
One of my friends that is just getting into kpop completely hates it though and she thinks that it is one of the barriers for kpop in the west.
What do you think?
