Hypothetically, if we ignore that Nct is fast rising to take bts' spot in every metric once they hit the military, there ain't any other candidate for bts spot, eh? That ain't lookin promising for yg, jyp or hybe at all. They're all one hit wonders anyway. Twicewonder, btswonder & blackpinkwonder. Sm oppat the only multi hit wonder, hotshinwasestvxqsujusnsdshineexoredvelvetnctæspa wonder
Realistically can we expect a bigger groop then Bts in K-Pop?

Akorns for everyone

I don't know, but if BTS gets their Hip-Hop track production "thicc" and work with someone to get their English pronunciation solid for the recordings, they are going to be an even harder act to follow!
I've mentioned it before, we haven't had an all-guy-crossover-Pop group who can sing and rap in the West for a while. If BTS can make sure to "dot their i's, cross their t's", this can be listed within their history too.

Do people genuinely not realise that once BTS of their own accord decide to disband and do other things, Kpop is going straight back to stay in Asia lol?
BTS is literally a once in an era type of thing, if they weren't then all these other groups would be just as mainstream and as successful but they're not. There isn't even consistent top 10 or top 20 western charting hits from other groups. Plus I'm not being rude but as a still new kpop fan (less than a year), genuinely haven't seen any other group come close to being as entertaining as BTS is. Like you legit can't take your eyes off them lol. Plus their music is vastly superior, I've heard songs from other groups that I thought were fun and cool but there's no replay value, for me at least. Yet 2015-2019 bts is on repeat in my playlists, it's pop that was actually better than pop in the west.
And they sold 7mill albums this year with no comeback, if they go to the military, their fandom is going to scare the living shit out of all of us with the achievements they'll end up pulling just waiting for them to comeback. It's really boggling that they don't get the hype they deseve. If they were American or British, their countries would never shut tf up about them lol eg, Adele, Beyonce etc.

I'm not sure

This is one of the dumbest takes in kpop and I keep seeing some ARMY say this.

I'm not Army but its kind of true unless other groups strengthen their fandom to the point where Western markets have to pay attention in order to get in on the cash. Other groups haven't manged that yet and they may not. That's all.

If you take album sales of acts in other countries they sell way less than TXT, NCT, Enhypen, Seventeen, Exo etc.
So even if none are as big as bts, there’s still lots of money to be made.
But now bts has become mainstream bighit is also milking it to the max. As they should.
They spend more money on production, pr, all their content etc.
They will not go to the military. The biggest export earning billions of dollars to the korean society? They prolly go for the five week training and then community service like going to the UN😛.

Not unless they are connected to them💜

That's just not true. KPOP has been continuously growing in the international markets for years, and streaming has changed the way the world listens to music. They dont need record labels to prop them up on radio to be successful.
KPOP is slowly sliding into the same position EDM is, a niche market with a strong fanbase.
BIGBANG has sold out arenas in the USA almost 10 years ago now, and sold out shows w/ merch are more than enough of an impact.

You said “kpop is going straight back to asia”. Which is just stupid. Kpop was in the west before BTS and kpop will be in the west after BTS. Even completely cancelling BTS from the equation, lots of other groups have only grown their western fan base as the years go by.
If you mean attaining celebrity status in the west? Then yeah it probably won’t happen, But BTS had successful tours in the west before that and i have no doubt other groups will be able to as well.

The twist is that even if they aren't surpassed, the next gen fans are gonna nugufy them and make them look less popular than they really were.

There are tons of groups with 8 or more members. So yeah.

I really doubt any boy group will achieve as much as BTS did
they are unstoppable tbh

Nope.

I think there will eventually be the next big kpop act meaning they’ll win the daesang and have the hits and the album sales maybe some years in the future.
Will this act be as big as BTS? Idk. Previous generation of kpop always had somewhere to grow to but right now kpop feels like it’s reached it’s peak possible exposure. Social media made sure it did. So technically feels like BTS is the roof.

Kpop will still grow for sure, but not as much as when BTS was at the helm (when BTS decides to stop).
In chart talk- Kpop growth will nose dive from a steep curve to back to becoming a gentle slope going upwards.
