Just curious... Considering it's the most Blackpink-esq song how do you think Korea would have reacted???
Do you think they would have reacted differently to Korean members? Would the reception be better if it was a whole Blackpink song?
AKP hated HYLT just like Lalisa but Korea reacted different... So what is the formula since AKP is known to crack Blackpink formula...
I think jennie would have been the only member that could get koreans streaming it. Although she would not be able to perform it as well as Lisa does.
Honestly, it would do well in Korea if it was a Korean member.
But I don't care. Their loss. Lisa broke the records for album sales, YouTube views and likes and iTunes number 1s for a K pop female solo artist.
That's one of the reasons some people try and dwell on Korean numbers, they can't take her success. All with minimal promo too so

akp has so many korea boos and they only talk about songs that do well in korea. The amount of threads that next level had is insane but when it released everyone said it was horrible.

Sorry for saying this but I don't think the Korean gp would be down for the two members singing a song repeating their name over and over again in a similar fashion to Lalisa 
Not to mention I'd never in a million years imagine Rose singing a song like that for a solo.
No doubt they would peak high but they'd fall quickly and probably perform similar to ice cream.
it would be still same, song is not easy to listen. Song is very eexperimental and intense.
For me, there are two decisive factors why LALISA is not doing so well in South Korea.
1. Lisa is the least popular member + she is a foreigner.
2. The promotion of the song in South Korea is a 1 / 10. No music show performances, no variety shows. Nothing.
If the second point had been made better, I think it would chart higher in South Korea.
I think Jennie would make the song popular. Definitely. Jennie is THE It-Girl there.
If you are asking if there is xenophobia, then yeah ofc there is a lot in korea. But you can't compare lalisa to blackpink songs because blackpink songs are usually about love and heartbreak and coming back stronger which koreans relate to more. Solo had that and blackpink songs have that.

Will the song chart better or do better if Rosé or Jennie released Lalisa? For sure, yes.
Jennie is SK's IT girl so whatever she releases will for sure be a hit.
Rosé released two different genre of songs in English which is a foreign language for Koreans and yet both songs charted so high and did well. And I'll give it to her popularity in SK. Her vocals are well-loved by Knetz proven by how her covers in Sea of Hope were always trending. She is known as Korea's Golden Voice so just like Jennie, whatever she puts out will surely be a hit whether in Korean or English.
Will Rosé or Jennie released a song like Lalisa?
They might. But among the two, Rosé went her way out to release songs that are far from the songs Blackpink released so I believe, Rosé will not release a song like Lalisa. Its not in her artistry.
Lalisa as a song is a song BP can release. If BP released the song, it will for sure be a hit. HYLT and D4 are proofs of it. And that's because of BP brand.
So, I believe that Lalisa is not doing well in SK is not because of the song but because it was Lisa who released it. No offense to Lisa but she is the least popular in SK. I don't want to make it xenophobia but Knetz just maybe weren't as familiar with Lisa as they are with Rosé and Jennie. Maybe if she had promotions in SK then she might have gained relevance to the GP.
I still believe Jisoo is more popular in SK but as a singer, Rosé is more known. Her vocals are what make her popular there while Jisoo is more known for her visuals.
The song would have had 100 pak if it was released by Jennie that for sure
