For the 943rd time, I think Butter will win it, I think Next Level deserves it.
I heard Army saying a couple years ago a certain song should win since it outcharted the other nominees, well Celebrity outcharted Butter and Next Level is ahead of it in UL's, longevity and index so I think most of the Army I know would agree, Butter doesn't indeed deserve to win SOTY.
Some Army somewhere said something in some context and so now every Army should agree to it and be bound by it, yes this makes a whole lot of sense.

I don't get this "deserve" shit. This isn't 'Dynamite' or BWL type of situation for a particular song to be firm favourite. This is 2018 situation where there were multiple songs in the reconning so this "deserve" logic doesn't apply here.
Well not surprised Army change their tune now that they need the judges to win.
ARMYs didn't give a single damn when 'Dynamite' didn't win at the GDA this year (probably the most prestigious Korean award show) even though it was by far the biggest song released last year. So your guilt tripping isn't gonna work here bro.

imo every awards have their own criteria. Thus every songs that fit those criteria are eligible for won.
If butter win soty i would happy. And if it wouldnt, i'll still proud of butter. And i'll give my congratulation to whoever winner is/are.
Personally, I prefer salted butter so… 
Anyway, pretty much all I have seen in the five thousand discussions of this topic is BTS stans saying ‘If Butter fits the criteria and wins, great. If it doesn’t and one of the other well-performing songs wins, great. Good for them.’
The only people I’ve seen being really salty about this issue are antis, gunning for anyone but BTS to win.
