i sure hope not... they're still popular so i don't really understand why sm would end their career

my personal theory is that queendom may be the end of their own red velvet thing going on and then the in the next comeback sm will add them to kwangya

I think it's unlikely, but we'll never 100% know for sure, of course: contract renewal in K-pop is puzzling to me, I'd expect that contracts are signed before a group's debut or at the last around their debut date.

Seeing how Red Velvet debuted in 2014 at the start of August and that contracts since 2010 can't last longer than 7 years, this would suggest that they've already renewed their contracts, all of them

To me it's much more likely that they hadn't had a comeback in so long so they wanted to go on a nostalgia trip with their fans. That makes it more special that they're releasing new music now.

Damn, I'm still sad and mad that X1 disbanded and that Love disappeared without any explanation,,,,

Anyway, I have mixed feelings. SM gave them comebacks, breaks, solo opportunities, but we don't know the internal problems. Maybe some of them would like to stop this tiring idol career or focus on acting or being solo. Not sure if SM has the policy of letting them be under a different company and at the same time promote as a group.

i think SM will see how this comeback do before deciding on the fate.

Now that SM has a new GG which is doing well, It is easier for SM to let go of RV unless RV is still doing well.

So far, the sales proven that RV still has decent support. I would say, RV will likely to continue
