I mean I'm fine by whichever song will overtake Butter in the end but shading BTS while celebrating their faves isn't it. It almost feels like they care about beating BTS more than their faves being #1.

OP, I think you should careefully read about these. A lot of people hold BTS on a high standard and for most people, being able to compete with them is a high-honor. I have no idea whose names you've got in your mind, but all I'm seeing is how BTS is the biggest group in the world and how a rookie group is holding their ground

They are more obsessed with BTS and them going “down” compared to their support for their faves.

this is true I might not be a fan but we have to admit that butter didn't get promotions and it was in English. it did better than expected if anything.

There was already much excitement about blocking of Butter's PAKs, when it gets overtaken there will be even more.

Also recently noticed that people mostly think an up beat, flirty, summery dance song is generic and not worthy of success/praise only when it comes from BTS (or maybe boy groups in general? who knows).

This is nothing news, and it is not entirely exclusive to BTS. When anything staying at the top for too long, People got tire of it. Whether sports, movies, anything you can think of has some short of data that can be measure.

Personally i'm just really happy that my fave is still doing so well a month after their song is released. When i name drop Butter, it's because they just happen to be the one above them, same thing when i name drop Happen or DDD. I'm always happy whenever they climb one spot, no matter who the groups are. I also don't really care if the achievement is small or big, as long as it's a good achievement i will always celebrate it and be happy for them

Only BTS can top reformed Korean charts (that have disadvantaged a lot of previous DigiMons) for an entire month with 250+ PAKs yet still be called flops.

Was IU a flop or “losing popularity” then when Brave Girls overtook her with a viral song despite being the biggest DigiMon in Korea?

i mean, i don’t think celebrating a song dropping is being an anti. That’s like saying hoping your favorite sports team wins, means you hate the other team.

I think some of you just take kpop too personally and look for excuses to be upset.

Um, in sports, people DO root for certain teams to lose. Some don’t even have a particular favourite team but they enjoy seeing a top-ranking one getting defeated.

Simplest example, in football, is ABU (Anything but United) supporters who care more about seeing Manchester United lose than seeing their favourite teams win. My uncle’s one of them, he doesn’t mind that much when Liverpool loses, but cares more about seeing United dropping points.

I am definitely not celebrating with the view BTS should go down. It's really an honor that my faves are just below them. I don't even know about Dynamite charting and wouldn't even compare with it. BTS is too legendary for me to think they'll flop. They have proven enough but the real antis will never be satisfied. Idk which users you are referring but I do see some hate towards BTS here and there sometimes.

Yeah, BTS are in a spot where anytime they don't break a record they're gonna catch BS from people.

PAKs are about timing and luck, if Butter debuted against Rollin's peak, it wouldnt have had a chance.

My concerns were more about UL counts, they tell the full tale. Butter's ULs counts are back to their debut numbers, which tells me only the casual/hardcore fans and listeners of BTS are streaming it now. Way below Dyna's after 4 weeks, below LSG after 4 weeks, and could end up below a rookie GG after 4 weeks.

Now, it's possible that these fans and listeners can prop the song up indefinitely like they've done for Dyna (i think they're doing a courageous job of fending off NL's GP fueled rise at this moment, every time NL gets a new peak, BTS fans go even harder lol). I never underestimate BTS fandom lol. Its also possible that Butter can have a secondary viral surge among the GP like what happened with the Pres endorsement of Dynamite.
