Napoleon Bonaparte ascended to the throne of Emperor of France on Dec 02, 1814.
Obviously other countries had different opinions, and encouraged by England, Austria , Prussia(Germany) and Russia attacked Napoleon.
Napoleon beat Russia and Austria at Austerlitz on Dec 1805, defeated the Prussians at Jena on 1806 and defeated the Russians at Friedland on 1807.
However, despite of these shining victories, the Spanish launched a guerilla war against him, of course financed from London. Napoleon was never really able to vanquish the Spaniards.
Austria was getting uppity again so Napoleon went to attack it on 1809.
However, at Aspern-Essling the Austrians actually beat the Emperor, and in the subsequent battle of Wagram, only numerical superiority (Napoleon had 170,000 men while the Austrians had 130,000 men) led to a hard won victory. Wagram was Napoleon's last major victory.
Why?
Because other countries were copying Napoleon's methods and were changing their forces to deal with the French.

BTS's most brilliant triumph was Boy with Luv, in 2019.
Although BTS had other hits, I do think that among international fans BwL will be the most lasting song.
In 2020, with the Covid epidemic, Dynamite propelled BTS to the top singer position of the world. (I do not count Savage Love since BTS did not play a major role there.)
Life Goes on was another triumph, sung in Korean (although with some English lines). cementing their superiority over the rest of the world.
However, BTS left some ulcers back home, with IU largely retaining her influence over the domestic population and ready take over Korean Pop's initiative if BTS ever got behind, and the trottists, like the Spanish against Napoleon, never really vanquishable because of Korea's demographic getting older.
Now, Butter had a hard time defeating Olivia Rodrigo's good 4 u, and like Napoleon winning at Wagram only because of weight of numbers, BTS only won against Rodrigo because of the heavy purchases by Army in US.
Although Hybe purchased Scooter Brown's agency and gained control of Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and J. Balvin ( a huge Latin pop star), that led to the disbandment of Gfriend, and while GF's fans are not numerous enough to change the picture, Hybe gained a dedicate segment of fans who will not support it, and with the slow rise of txt, some people are still questioning the future of Hybe after BTS. GF's Eunha covered IU's Lilac, showing she turned to IU's side, something like Napoleon's general Jean Bernadotte turning against him, becoming the King of Sweden and coming to fight his erstwhile monarch at 1813.
Hybe is lucky that KakaoM was devoting a lot of time trying to fight against Spotify (and eventually surrendering to there) so did not have time to from an alliance against it.
And, Olivia Rodrigo wanted a collabo with BlackPink, something which I think will take place. Unlike Archduke Karl, who had defeated Napoleon at Aspern-Esseling but was defeated at Wagram though no fault of his own, and was ostracized and essentially retired after that, Rodrigo is not willing to go easily and will try to put BTS into a bind by allying with BlackPink.
Napoleon eventually exhausted his forces against Russia in 1812.
BTS has not faced the two biggies, Adele and Ed Sheeran, because they chose to release their albums after the pandemic was mostly over.
Ed Sheeran has already announced that he will release a new album this year, and while Adele, who was rumored to release an album last year but did not do so, has not made up her plans yet she will still probably outsell BTS.
With BTS seen to be barely beating Olivia Rodrigo, whom few people had heard about till this year, Ed Sheeran and Adele will want to jump to the ring and fight BTS's world control.
I wonder how BTS would answer these challenges, by older acts and newer acts, and domestically by IU and the trottists. At least IU won't fight BTS for quite a while, but the trottists will continue to be a thorn at BTS's feet in Korea.
