Reason why i feel frustrated about Next Level charting well in korea

Have you considered that being good or not good is a subjective thing?

I'm just happy that I got my Limited Aespa Badge

I just don't want SM to spam girlcrush song with Aespa like Yg did with BP. I was way better with RV and Fx regularly changing concepts and style of musics

Honestly, people on akp might say shit and press the FLOP button 100 times. NL isn't that bad and it's a hit or a miss type of song. It can never have a neutral opinion.

I am surprised how well aespa is stable on charts. I thought Knetz might totally dislike this song.

Oh My Girl is on its way to beat peaches :P. Its a quality song.

But I was upset too about NL then I realized I'm old and maybe the newer gen likes this music so who am I to judge

It had beat switches like TVXQ and SNSD. It represented much more old gen trends. So I feel this had to be one of the reasons why Knetz love it? But I am really really surprised because Ifans had the worst take on this song and Knetz had opposite.

they are just 6 months old. Surely they won't perform like other top groups of SME. They are charting better than BM though.

Well, they are supposed to fight for the nr 1 spot amog the girlgroups, so anything outside of top 10 is not much to talk about for such a group. I mean if it was from a smaller company it would be good.

Idk, maybe it's not about being the number 1 all the time. At least from my side, I don't want to picture their success so fast. Even aespa themselves said that they dont want to win music shows and improve for now.

Did not say it must be nr1, but not even top 10 feels a bit..meh for that group and nothing SME can be happy with.

Last time ppl didnt even belueve they would go past 50 despite being an sm group lmao. Top 20 is very hard in the new UL-based system. If this was old melon, they’ve been in top10 since, like, the first day lol.

Well, if it was a good song from a popular group it would not be hard to get top 10... And it's not really important how they chart first days, more intresting to see how it chart one-two week after the release. If they chart top 20 after two weeks I would say it's good. Anyway, if you are happy with with charting around 20 thats okey.

These days non-public friendly songs can still chart well, but getting #1 or even top #5 will be very hard without public liking it a lot also

Sm groups usually changed their concept, but they looked at stability more now, SM woke up now. I think the concept does not change in the Aespa because a stable concept is required for success and generally the kpop audience is young. Not many audiences appreciate and love the concept change.
