It's not that surprising when you see STAYC in Melon top 25 and NCT Dream hitting #1 on Flo when rookie groups could barely crack top 100 last year and boy groups were dead on the charts

Kpop seems to be trendy amongst Korean GP again

I'm really surprised. I was under the assumption that gp prefer public friendly song and NL is clearly so faraway from being public friendly. Surprisingly the translated comments from pc seems positive towards the song.

I just recently watched it after seeing a PC article and got curious because it seemed there was a bit of controversy about the song? Honestly before listening to it I thought people were over exaggerating but it really isn't my style at all. So yes, I am quite surprised, especially considering how much flack Itzy got for their song despite Mafia sounding a lot more palatable.

No. SM created alot of hype with the teasers and watching how Mafia in the morning is performing on the chart, I expected it to do decent with the Knetz. Depending on how high(top 15-20) it reaches through the week and if consistent then I can say I'll be surprised.

No this kinds of song (very modern style, lots of edm and rap parts) really work right now in Korea, probably wouldn't work 2 years ago though.
