I think Kpop generations should be around 7 years (the average lifespan of your typical group). 2011-2018 was third gen. 2018-2025 is fourth gen.

Same thing with when missA made their debut suzy was 15 and 2ne1 who debuted a year early had Bom who was 25 years old yet they were considered to belong to the same generation by that logic we're not in 4th generation but the 5th

People always like to say this but Kpop was never the forefront genre in Korea. It's up to individual groups to become big names. Being really into Kpop was always niche. The difference now is that there's an over saturation so it's harder for a group to get that breakout fame. It's like how literally only Gen Z are listening to these Tik Tok artist's songs regular people have no idea who tf these people are

4th generation doesn’t even have a “Twice” or “SNSD” type of girl group so we’re far from a Cheer Up moment happening.

also the Hybe new GG with all the armys backing them

but there's still time I think aespa next comeback is going to be huge their ICC is coming
