Imo, Winter is overhyped in terms of talent, especially vocals.

i think she has the prettiest voice tone in this gen alongside hyein. her voice is GORGEOUS and so VERSETILE it's insane!

lately, her performance of one of my favorite song Limit by Nell (covered by Yerin) blew me away! even vocaly she improved so damn much! and she was insane during the Armageddon/Whiplash/Dirty Work promo .

i can't wait for her solo debut .

also i swear her and hanni have phd's in aegyo ! like how can anyone be so effortlessly and naturaly ADORABLE ! she is soooo cute >-<!

and i like her thoughfull and sensitive personality, her music taste is peak too. and her waistline/hipline is like perfection! lol it may sound shallow but i really like her visuals too, and her semi short bob .

her stage presence is so good. she has so many charms and she is so good at assimilating various concepts. she's just an ace. a fraud as koreans call it.

her talking voice is sooo adorable too , ah my shayla .

apart of njz babies of course, i didn't have such a strong bias since Krsytal. (Taeyeon is unparalleled still ) I did also like Yooa but amongst the 3rd/4th/5th gen, she is my ultimate bias (with hyein + ot5 njz).

Winter

She's the member that puts the most effort and I feel her and Ningning give Aespa their signature sound. I used to think Ningning might be the best performer in the group but Winter won me over last year and she continued to be the best performer. I can see why SM was pushing her early to be the most popular member.

Karina

Super down to earth, funny, and a bit of a dork off stage, comes across as very genuine.

Then on stage she's a monster performer, charismatic and strong. I like that kind of duality.

Her voice is probably my fave in kpop, I love that divorce voice, especially when she belts. It's so rich.

And to top it off, she is absolutely stunning.

well i grew much more fond of her and even aespa since 24 because i reallyyy enjoyed their songs and their concepts! this staning synergy finally really took off since supernova/argmageddon era .

and she keeps on surprising me with how great she is .

I'm much more prefer 宁艺卓 but then again I'm biased for NN and biased for Chinese idols lol

but again given the OP's non-descript choose one of Karina or Winter without any explanation - I made my choice based on something random as in their Korean name

I think you are on to something. My gut feel is that the percentage of real mys that like Karina the least would be pretty low.

She's definitely front and centre of the group, and she's the most interactive with the fans I believe.

From what I've seen, I think Ningning is the one most popular among non-fans.

I prefer NingNing and Winter in aespa. Winter has a really sweet voice.

And i think most MYs enjoy much more Karina personality than Winter

I'm a My since debut so i clearly saw the switch

When Aespa members were introduce 85% of My were stanning Winter especially after the "My karina" video where she appear smiling in a beret everybody fell in love with her at this moment

And liked the duality in her introduction video between her baby face and the fact that she was playing with a sword

And the moment aespa started to do more radio, more interview, more variety show

A switch happened and a lot of MYs switched from Winter to Karina stan

i think it's also because karina really embodies aespa the most. she like the face and the visual of aespa. even her aura, and ai visuals are so aespa coded. so for 'aespa' fans, she must be like THE representative member of the group and their concept.

while non my are just casuals who aren't necessarily THAT in love of aespa as a whole, concept, music and everything with is pretty specific. but they are with winter's beautiful vocals, her cuteness and pretty face which is something many people can love regardless of if they like the aespa's concept/sound or not.

same with ningning. casual find them both beautiful and talended but mys who are deeper into the aespa lore and aespa story are more obsessed by karina.

me for example at some point, when i didn't like aespa's music (during next level/savage era), winter was still a major bias for me . like I LOVED her voice and her cuteness .

But Winter was actually my first bias in the group.

Karina is literally the only 4th gen idol that challenges my love for Izone. She carries Aespa tbh, with her performances, visuals, and most importantly, her hilarious charismatic 4D personality. I said this once before but she would be the only idol i would invite to join Izone Reunion Project Group as its 13th member.

I think Aespa would be more like a high 2nd tier group (same as Stayc, NMIXX, etc) and wouldnt have ever made it to the top 5 of fourth gen groups, let alone the current top 4th gen group, without her.
