I don't think what she did is a problem, but given the context that she's an idol and the culture I can see why it's better not to do it as it doesn't attract the right attention. It's just a well known meme, and the kind of thing friends laugh about. It would be like a country singer in America doing the Hawk Tuah at a performance. Everyone in the country knows the meme, a lot of middle school kids will laugh about it, but some people will raise their eyebrows over it, that's all. And from Giselle's predebut life she's the type that likes to joke around.

Nobody is making it an issue but it could have been something that wouldn't have done any favors to her reputation in Korea, since they are so overly critical of female idols.
