the only one who consistently hits from SNSD is only Taeyeon... but yeah 2nd gen have so many potential soloist like even Park Bom have multiple #1 melon hits during her 2NE1 day, Hyolyn and Eunji were also somehow big as a soloist.. now we only have Taeyeon and Sunmi left

technically they're 2nd gen so i put em last just because they started a whole craze in korea. too bad they couldn't follow up
I don't even gone try to rank them, because I don't follow charting and sales numbers that much, so it wold mostly only be my prefered groups and the groups I felt was most popular.
It's hard to compare when different groups that was strong in different time periods when the social media, digital media and music platforms was developing so fast. I mean KARA and Wonder Girls was strong 2007-2009, but T-ara 2010-2012. Same reason it's hard to compare 2nd generation with the groups today.

I think Kara is only superior in album sales, isn't Tara superior for touring? I could be wrong
Yes, there is no successful Gen2 solo girl group except Kingtae, but even for consistent work, it is always SNSD which is still in the mouth of Knet, for all the members, even Jessica who has left.
all 2ne1 members, all miss a members except suzy, all tara and kara members they never managed to hit again even their solo jobs never reached high ratings and hype and their solos were uneven like snsd
Not gonna do the rank because to make a top like that is almost impossible, maybe tiers would make some sense.
However I wanted to point out that the fact that no one (apart from Lulu_key that said it was personal preference) mentioned BEG... Well, it's just wrong lol. BEG is basically Sistar level in terms of digitals, it's just that their peak was in 2008-2009.

- Wonder Girls dropped because they had a long period where they weren't active and got surpassed by other groups
- Apink is high because they were able to maintain their legacy for a decade
- T-ara could have been in the top 5 but the scandal killed them. Those peaks were something else though
- Don't come at me saying 2012 groups are 3rd gen, I don't care, these are the groups who were competing against each other. Imo 3rd gen started with the Red Velvet, Twice, Gfriend, BP, IOI, showdown.
- 8-13 are pretty interchangeable
- Brown Eyed Girls weren't active enough and never really had popularity beyond Korea
- People underestimate Secret, they actually digitally did quite well
