You also said you're not a boomer like grandpa selfmate either, so you're born between 1980 and 1997. But that's quite a big scale. You denied being born in 1995 or 1994 so I guess you're born between 1989 and 1980. I'll just go for 1986 then, and that would mean THAT YOURE ONLY 6 YEARS YOUNGER THAN MY FATHER and you're 37?

There's too much ageism in K-Pop, not just among fans but even against idols. The oldest members of Mamamoo, my queens, are in their 30s. I would be distraught and depressed if they said they couldn't make music anymore because they're 30! It's so silly and arbitrary!

As a younger person it's just hard to believe that adults actually like K-Pop, bc most of the adults I know call it either "gay korean men that girls have crushes on" or "stripper girls that act like they can sing", except for my mom that is obsessed with Off The Record and stans NingNing for literally no reason but that doesn't make sense to me either.
And most guys I know are perverts anyways, so I'm honestly not expecting any guy to actually respect any female Idol. That's why it's amazing to see people on this forum not constantly sexualising them and actually caring about them, their music and their personalities. Still, I remain critical and paranoid and have to remind myself 20 times a day that nothing of this is real, most people here are probably scary irl, most male idols are playboys and most female idols are mean Because otherwise I'll get too attached.

Most of Mamamoo's fans were older even back in 2014, and I have adored being a part of this fandom for almost a decade.
At KCON 2016, several of us MooMoos finally met in person for the first time, and I've been good friends with them ever since, with our paths crossing from LA to Tokyo to Seoul.
Those meetups have been some of the most fun experiences of my life, so while I don't fault you for being a little paranoid, especially when you're younger, you CAN connect with really awesome people and make life long friends with this wild hobby
Go to a concert sometime. Hop in a discord. You might be surprised.
