Bvlgari Chairman deletes photos of Blackpink's Lisa..."19+ show" aftereffects

  • Popular girl group Blackpink's Lisa is experiencing the aftermath of participating in the 19+ show 'Crazy Horse'.

Recently, luxury brands for which Lisa is an ambassador have been deleting some of Lisa's photos from their social media accounts. The chairman of luxury brand Bvlgari, who boasted of a close relationship with Lisa, also drew attention by deleting Lisa's photos from his social media.

Lisa previously participated in 'Crazy Horse' and received strong criticism from the Chinese entertainment industry for 'violating the standards for maintaining celebrity dignity'. 'Crazy Horse' is a performance that shines light and illumination on a woman's naked body, and has been criticized for 'popularizing sexual commercialization.'

China's influence is so great that it accounts for more than 20% of global luxury goods consumption. As the recent financial crisis caused by real estate in China has led to an economic recession, the luxury goods market is also shrinking. It is assumed that luxury brands will not be able to ignore the influence of the Chinese market in this situation.

The Chinese entertainment industry is imposing strict sanctions on the 19+ show 'Crazy Horse'.

Lisa's Weibo account, a Chinese social networking service, was suddenly deleted on the 1st, and celebrity Angela Baby, who watched 'Crazy Horse', is also at risk of being kicked out of the Chinese entertainment industry.

The China Performing Industry Association's 'Performing Industry Celebrity Self-Management Measures' stipulates that entertainers 'must not organize, participate in, or promote pornography, gambling, drugs, violence, terrorism, etc.' Celebrities who promote obscene and vulgar performances are considered to be in violation of the 'Regulations of Maintaining Dignity' and are strictly regulated.

Since there is a precedent that Angela Baby had her appearance completely edited out of a Chinese TV program and was not invited to an event in Shanghai by the luxury brand for which she is an advertising model, it seems clear that a red flag has been turned on for Lisa's future activities in China.

In January next year, Lisa will participate in the campaign of luxury brand B, for which she is serving as an ambassador. Attention is being paid to whether a campaign event featuring Lisa as the main character will be released in the Chinese market.

Before this incident, both Bvlgari and Celine, which are part of the LVMH luxury conglomerate, regularly shared images of Lisa, who held the position of Global Ambassador for these brands. However, everything changed after her personal Weibo account was deleted, reportedly due to her participation in a performance at Crazy Horse. Subsequently, all images of Lisa were removed from the platforms of these two prestigious brands.

If you now search for Lisa on Weibo, using her name, account name (lalalalisa_m), or terms like "全球品牌代言人" (global brand spokesperson) and "全球品牌大使" (global brand ambassador) in Chinese, you won't find any images or mentions of her. This suggests that Bvlgari and Celine may no longer be able to feature Lisa in their campaigns in China.

  • Well lisa can do whatever she wants with her life and her body

But bvlgari also have the right to delete her post, a lot of luxury brand try to push for a high class, elegant, brand image

As much i enjoy cabaret etc ... Crazy horse show image doesn't really align with the image bvlgari is pursuing

Glad for lisa to do whatever she wants with her life and body

But fans have no right to criticize the company neither because when a brand amabassador sign a contract they agree to pursue the image of the company and not do anything contrary to this image

So the company is also right if they consider that Lisa image doesnt fit the company image anymore

  • I don't know... but she made the headlines in most of the giants MSM...such as CNN, Blomberg etc...

which means she'll be more recognised by not only just K-pop fans but also by general global public...

She's now not only a simple K-pop superstar or a celebrity but, truly a global public figure!

Yes, it shows how important she is to be banned by the giant China!

  • if they would have brands banned not just from weibo but overall from China then it makes sense

think of this way would company like SONY want to lose 20% of all sales of Playstation just because of one or two photos? doesn't make sense, easier to delete photos

  • Sadly, celebrities have to live their life according to what their labels, fans and business partners want.

I didn't think this would affect Lisa in any way. I hope it doesn't get so serious and just stops at that.

  • I think Bvlgari couldn't care less Lisa is dancing nude on the stage, I think this just doesn't align with Chinese market and Bvlgari is all about that.

    That makes sense.

  • Has nothing to do with image of the company , everything to do with Chinese money

  • Has nothing to do with image of the company , everything to do with Chinese money

Everything is about money. Celebrities are brand ambassadors to convince their fans to buy products they promote. It's not because ceo's and celebs love each other. It's about money and money only.

brands drop celebs all the time for various reasons, one of them is celebs not fitting the brand image anymore

  • The gradual progression of the celebrity life. We have seen this happen for many Disney or child stars who try break away from the childish image (and kpop is certainly a genre predominantly for children) and they lose their original contracts and endorsements.

But this will open up more doors eventually and will result in even bigger heights because no matter what the restricting image of kpop has its downsides esp when considering fashion.

Lisa knew the consequences and she wants to be more than kpop. If that means losing the contracts and endorsements with her idol image I think that’s ok.

She will get many more as “LISA”.

has nothing to do with brand image, it’s literally just Winnie the poo throwing a bitch fit per usual , and brands wanting Chinese money

If China didn’t give af she would still be promoted

You get that markets are different and what is acceptable in one isn't in other? Promo campaigns look different in the west, middle east and east asia. If you don't like countries' rules then stick to the market that shares your values.

The brand has certain image in China and having a person who performed at cabaret promote it doesn't fit the image.

Even people here were split on her decision to perform at crazy horse, many calling her a stripper. Knetz didn't like it too. It's not only about china, it's about cultures.

  • Has nothing to do with image of the company , everything to do with Chinese money

It does, i guess you don't really understand the meaning of brand ambassador

It's not just someone who wear pretty outfit from the brand

It's someone who embrace the value and image of the brand

Which through their image and apparition will carry the name of the company and will promote it

Especially for big luxury brand like Bvlgari that's why all their brand ambassador are celebrities with pretty clean image, anne hathaway, zendaya, priyanka

All celebrities that you don't see in the tabloid media for bad buzz and are often praise for their elegant image

Which is some of the value bvlgari stands for

I see nothing bad in a brand deleting an idol picture if they consider this celebrities doesn't fit the image of the brand

Celebrities always break contract with a company when a company is in a bad buzz

If it's the contrary companies should have the right to do the same without being shame

  • No...it has everything to do with not pissing off the Chinese market. Clean images? Anne and Zendaya have shown their boobs already, which is obviously more than what Lisa displayed during CH.
