I find it quite boring. Definitely not the kind of sound that attracted me to kpop in the 1st place so I hope this type of songs doesn't actually become the norm.

I have never understood chill songs, but then again, I am sober all the time.

Chill songs don’t need better vocals. For example none of new jeans songs are vocally challenging but instead anre a lot of fun and easy to listen to. Chill songs don’t have random high notes so it’s actually the opposite, if you have limited vocal capability a chill song is much better than those hard hitting songs with random forced high notes or bridges.

You missed the important part of my reply those were just examples. Chill songs are actually not vocally challenging.

In fact you’re the first person I’ve heard say you need vocals for chill songs lol. Chill songs need minimal vocal prowess that even a regular person can sing it. That’s the whole reason why they’re so popular.

"Chill songs" more like sleepy songs, not the reason I came into kpop. But some are good enough to listen to sometimes like Cupid.
