  • poaching a rookie group is not easy

unlike seniors they do not have as much right over their trademarks

its must be a label that can fork out alot of money to pay out their contract fee

  • This label is really good at doing publicity with vague announcements. It’s surely the best way to get people talking and making sure that investors see that the girls are the asset and not Cupid..

I remember them giving statement about something else, that also gave me that publicity flag.. will have to look it up if I’m not lazy.

You know what, you're right this is fuckin genius if this is really just a PR stunt, no one gets hurt, it will not put the company in a dangerous PR situation, while one of their member is out of commission they get to be in the headlines FOR FREE!

Certainly much safer than starting a dating scandal or somethin.

  • I believe this is another pr stunts from their company. Ngl, this company is good in making vogue statement, like is anyone still remember when they said the company is so poor when it's actually not and they get busted lying about it 😅?

No matter how popular the group are, big 4 won't poached them based on 1 successful song especially when it didn't really reflects a lot to the girls' popularity. People kmow cupid but not 50/50. Their songs is bigger than the group itself is not something good, just like psy and Gangnam style. He has the most known song from korea but it didn't really help his sales for example. If any of big 4 really wanting to get someone from the team, the one they wll poaching are the song writer, producer and composer instead.

  • sound to me like a really big lie and just a lame attempt to build hype around the girls

and honestly anybody who believe this is naive af

why would bigger companies would want to sign the girls of 50/50

when the girls themselves have absolutely no hype around them

their hype is all thanks to Cupid, the group itself or the girls have no hype or interest around them

so what goal a company would have to try to sign one of these girls in their company ??

if you told me someone is trying to sign a female idol like Wonyoung, Jennie, Karina etc... i would believe it because these girls actually prove that their name itself bring a lot of hype and attention and that the brand have a lot of interest in them so a lot of companies would love to have them

but if we are honest 90% of the people who love cupid doesn't even know the name of the girl

the girls as individual have no hype, and no interest from the brand or the public

so it would be stupid for a company to try to sign idols from small company who doesn't build a strong reputation

their CEO is just publishing this kind of statement because after the massive success of Cupid

there's not a lot of Hype around the song they are suppose to release for the Barbie movie neither for the comeback they announce

so he's trying to do a PR stunt to build the hype around the members by saying " look our girls are so great that other companies wants them"

  • This wording sounds like they actually managed to sway a member or two

Maybe its something lose in translation because the quote(from Attrakt's statement?) from Kboo is this

"However, while we were making preparations, another label approached the artists and tried luring them into breaking their exclusive contracts. This outside party, through slanderous allegations toward us, has been luring the artists into making a mistake by ignoring their legal contracts and signing with them"

  • Nmixx debut album with a hated song made 227k first week sales while Fifty Fifty sales with their huge hit it 50k, so no way a big company would take the risk when their brand alone is more a guaranty of cash than Fifty Fifty, even more in a shady way that would tanish the company image.

    thats because of company stans

fifty fifty's next album will do well if they manage to release it before the hype dies

  • It's weird when people think it's hybe. It's definitely a reach and wishful thinking I guess. I agree that the company is weird with all things they bought but what actually they want to do with 50/50 members when they literally have a new gg to debut that can be guarantee to sell really well just like Lsf and Nj. Not like it's a guarantee that 50/50 will have another hit like cupid after this. Their strength is not in the group but in their songs. The one that hybe or other companies should steal are those people that created and work for the song not 50/50 members.

It's safe to say that this is a pr stunt by their company or it's another small to medium company that offer them the contract. People need to understand that what happen to Chaewon, Minju and Sakura is very rare.

  • The whole thing sounds ridiculous.

How can you poach an idol when they are under contract? You buy the company or shares in the company. It doesn't make sense because there are press releases by the company that they are trying to get investment capital, which means they are willing to sell a share of the company for the investment capital now.

  • thats because of company stans

But that's exactly why a big4 wouldn't approach them, company stans will tune in for any group they make, so it's hard to a act be big enough to big company take the risk with such a shady move. A big company would try to purchase Fifty Fifty company as a whole.

    You might be onto something.

They might have seen: "big success" we want a piece of the pie.

I assume the girls have a contract and that other Korean labels know they can't randomly steal groups?

its true that kpop idols sign contracts to be under a company but it isn't a slave era where like kpop companies completely own the idols like their private property after signing of contract,

those bond contracts are not supreme, they can still legally be broken in various circumstances before their expiration, usually there's a big monetary fine associated with the contract if the signee wants to break the contract before its expiry date.

If a idol wants to leave the contract and is ok with engaging in a court hassle and some other rich company is ready to pay that contract breaking fee on behalf of that idol then legally it should be possible.
