It is happening again. Exactly what happed to 2010-2011 groups(Miss A, A Pink, Sistar, Girl's Day) is happening again to 2018-2019 groups(Idle and Itzy), they are not in discussion for top gg consideration. They debuted when 3rd gen was at peak so they couldn't fit there, and now the new gen was born that they can't fit either. Idle is particularly pitiful, the had amazing 2022 but Ive and New Jeans were just more fresh and stole the hype from them.

The pattern is repeating in the 4th gen, they're doing what 3rd gen did.
The pioneering groups of 3rd gen definitely reached some high levels of success (EXID, Mamamoo, RV, AOA). But the 3.5 generation that came onboard later with Gfriend, OMG, Twice and BP completely stole the show and scaled much taller peaks, outperforming them digitally and physically.
4th gen is going the same way. The pioneering 4th gen groups like Itzy, Gidle, StayC and Aespa reached some incredible heights and they're all going strong esp Gidle. But with Ive starting the 4.5 generation, the accomplishments of the initial 4th gen groups are starting to pale in comparison. Ive and NJ have at least five (i'm calling Attendant a national hit now) and up to SIX national hits among them, while LSRFM is coming on strong in Korea, Japan, and globally. Ive is challenging Aespa physically, while NJ and LSRFM have already ended what Gidle, Itzy and StayC did in physical sales as rookies.
Bottom line, the 3.5 and 4.5 generations of Kpop GGs are truly leading the way.

This is incorrect. Mamamoo, Red Velvet, BlackPink, GFriend and Twice all belong in the same category, and much of what you said was a blanket statement.
Both Mamamoo and Red Velvet absolutely had digital peaks comparable to Twice, GFriend and BlackPink.
Weird comparison to make. All five groups were easily the most successful and dominant of the 3rd generation. No need to revise history to fit a narrative.

Itzy is to Twice what Miss A was to Wonder Girls, (G)-Idle is a bigger 4Minute/Apink, Everglow is oversee EXID, Fromis_9 is a Apink like without the gp fame. IZ*One could have become that group but disbanded...
Imo 2017-2019 is 3.5 gen, at least for GG. IVE, Aespa, LSF, NJ are the gg leading the way. We will see if NMIXX and KEPLER can pick up the pace, they have the money behind at least.
