SM situation- vote for ur lesser evil: Kakao vs Hybe

Kakao has lots more money then hybe right?
yes so kakao win and have a conglomerate win everything?
-
-
hybe announced they will have a hands off approach to SM
they wont even change CEOs or stop SM 3.0 as claimed
tbh I dont think much changes either way and people are panicking all on their own
-
Hybe offering LSM shares at 120,000 won/share (the highest price in history that the stock price never touch before) through loans not straight cash so if they able to get the management rights I don't think that they allow the same BODs managing the company since rn SM profits are less than 10%. Business are not charity, they most definitely install their people there, they want to make SM getting at least 15-20% profits to make up the risk of loans

profit is naturally gonna go up with increases live shows this year
really dont have to touch anything
if anything they will likely increase the album prices on their own side to make up the cash

but srsly what the fuck is making them so desperate for SM's share to pay that much?
its really shocking

Remember that they are taking big risk buying with loans especially with rising inflations so I don't think they can wait that long for profit to go up naturally.

some analyst says:
They don't want Kakao became their rivals in entertainment industry . If Kakao getting SM their valuation will much higher and beating Hybe with big gap and it will be hard to catch up with them
Kakao only offers 91,000-92,000 per shares so to beat them they need to offer higher and LSM is greedy he wouldn't sold his shares unless in premium prices

Let's see what they are doing when they're getting the management rights
honestly I'm still in doubt they will do it like what they say in the media.

yes- kakao owns the media and melon. kakao owning a big label like sm will create more imbalance than hybe owning. its d real monopoly since they are a big conglomerate . They are a tech company fundee by chinese money. If u think Hybe is ruthless to Kakao is more evil than any music labels.
Setting Gfriend as an example cuz u all act as if that grp is BP ot Twice level and as if its only Hybe who disbanded a grp. I dont see any issues with Nuest. SVT looks happy. They are no longer profitable & members look problematic. Its their label ( Source) who disbanded them. All labels under Hybe have independence to run their business. They are only funded by Hybe & share producers .Just like what that Adore CEO said, while they give their opinions, its up to the labels how they can sell their strategy. I also hate Hybe sometimes even mostly these ( cuz they sometimes ignore Enhypen) days bec obviously they are capitalists & keep releasing merchs and milking so much money from fans. But stl at least idols under Hybe are well paid and sound happy. They at least release 2 albums a yr, many contents, concerts opportunities, brand deals high EMV even for bgs etc.

kakao I'm mad at hybe for getting rid of vlive and making us use shitty weverse
Weverse didn't shut down vlive.
Hybe just took BTS out of vlive to create their own platform which is Weverse. Naver saw that and wanted a piece in the cake (because they think BTS gone = vlive losing relevancy). So they bought half of the Weverse shares and want to merge their app with Weverse. I know it's easier to blame Weverse but get your facts straight. -

I dunno about this imbalance argument. I feel like i have to keep reposting this list to show how imbalanced a Hybe-SM company would be. They would literally control the entire Korean music market.
LSRFM
Enhypen
127
SNSD
Fromis9
Even if Kakao somehow managed to get JYP and YG to form a counteralliance, i still dont think this combined entity could truly compete against the Hybe SM behemoth.
Treasure
GD
MonstaX
Twice
Stray Kidz
And remember that YG and Hybe are actually tied together, so to pry YG away from Hybe would be no easy task.

looks balanced to me idk what ur on about

Because at the end of the day, what do artists want? They were anyway not seeing the 30% of the profit lsm was keeping too himself
They just want stability, the ability to promote their music, tour and be able to make decent income out of it
Now, they have to worry about if the staff will get changed, if the working conditions will change, if the company will survive, those close to their end of contracts are probably even thinking of alternatives etc.
All of this because of the family feud between lsm and his nephew

Its not lies and good for you that you stan bts not everyone here does

Idg how Kakao is a better choice and just bcos they have lesser artists like cmon Kakao is bigger than Hybe and all ur big 3 combined. They have like some ownership in line app which is the largest in Japan and Kakao.
Idc abt hybe as a saviour narrative but Kakao have done dirty to other artists before and if they have power over sm it just means they will expand their influence on the music industry and it ain’t good.

i guess it's my fault for getting serious with kpop stans

KR music market is not just abt music. U need a platform, distributor and media . Kakao has all that including melon. The biggest korean music platform. Kakao & CJ dont usually enter big labels since its way too obvious and funding only some mid-size labels or enter partnership. Its more dangerous since u have the media, the music platform, and music label . Just to give u an idea -- Kakao or CJ are like big 4 combined. Thats basically the definition of monopoly. They can literally rigged charting if it happens. Hybe is nothing compared to Kakao or CJ. They are conglomerates- go & research what it means. There is a reason why they compared Kakao to white walker or Thanos. At least in Hybe despite being greedy too, Bang PD is an actual musician and producer who understands artists and music. Kakao is a tech giant. Its basically like Elon Musk buying Disney, Spotify & CNN while owning Twitter too. Get my point?
Also, YG is a partly owned by Naver Entertainment. And YG plus distributes all Hybe artists albums except Enhypen. I know Hybe has stakes on YG plus too and in return YG artists are in weverse. Its a win win patrnership not ownership. They also have labels managing actors and models. They are not a small label. They will always be competitive.
On JYP, Hybe particularly Bang PD has good relationship with them. SKZ success will continue & gives JYP a good place in business.
But Kakao is known in destroying artists/acts they think will overshadow their stakes since they own the media . They did it to anyone competing with Ive. Garam is a classic example. Look at the media play abt SM artists / employees saying they disagree and Bang PD / Ador CEO will manage SM but apparently its untrue.

Weverse was originally created for TXT as txtuniverse. A few months later it was rebranded and relaunched as weverse, and that's when BTS was added. Weverse and vlive had totally different functions, so everyone who already used both (including BTS and TXT) continued to use both until the merge happened.

I don't care what it was called before but when BTS joined (after being pulled out from vlive), it was renamed as Weverse and i doubt Hybe created it solely for TXT. It was probably just for experimental purpose before they implemented it to whole company. Even the name TXTuniverse isn't originally but took inspo from Bangtan Universe. If Weverse and Vlive were so different, why did Hybe have to pull its artists from vlive? They were clearly competitors, Naver just simply gave up and ran to Weverse for that BTS' clout.

what does this prove? ofc TXT was there at first since they made TXT the experiment. Other artists were always going to follow suit.
