We know that she was huge in Japan, sold million singles and etc but do we actually know for a fact that she was a top in Korea?
I am asking because how come she doesn't have ajumma fans standing up for her? Like it is not like she was active 50 years ago. She is 36 year old, she was supposedly popular in early 2000s, that demography of fanbase still exists, it didn't vanish. We have same gen people like Lee Hyori, Rain or even older groups like Sechskies who still have fans. So even though I don't wanna throw shade at her amazing career, the question just naturally pops up. Did she just fail in longevity, was it the music is popular but not the artist case, hence people don't really care for her as a celebrity?
Even going back to the Japan, like I don't even feel her Japanese popularity at all. Compare that to TVXQ, who are in cultural conscience and it is just weird. How come someone who was seemingly huge at some point can just turn into a definition of irrelevance?
