Why do people keep asking for new SM groups?

    I counted 36 active SM artists that had a release last year or this year:

    13. Ryeowook (released this year)

    18. Taemin (released last year)

    19. EXO (released last year)

    20. Xiumin (released this year)

    21. Suho (released this year)

    22. Chen (released this year)

    23. Baekhyun (released last year)

    25. Chanyeol (released last year)

    -WayV has started promoting again with Winwin back in Korea and appearing with them most recently at a Kpop show in Thailand. They have a new album coming before the end of the year.


    This doesn’t even count the artists active under Million Market or Mystic Story..


    And I probably missed some people - this was off the top of my head 😂

    Yup and some stuff are delayed


    They don't need more people

    You left out Super Junior D&E last year and SuperM released We Do last year too. That's also not counting the two WayV subunits and all the Station/NCT Lab/iScream remix releases (or even Raiden's solo album).

    Cry about it I guess because SM does not give a fuck about gens. :nct6:

    It used to be the case SM had less groups so fans wanted more. During 2G there were 2 ggs and 3 bgs + Exo starting off 3G. Not out there for fans to want more.


    But nowadays I think it's getting too crowded. Some older groups like SNSD and Suju are still around and there's been more newer groups. Now they have 3 ggs and 4 + whatever number NCT counts as PLUS a dozen or so soloists. That's a lot of artists to handle and a bit silly to keep asking for more when SM can barely fit everyone in a year or at least give everyone equal time in the spotlight.

    You've essentially listed the main reasons why SME need fresh blood because they spend too much time on Dinosaurs that literally have little potential for growth over a group like aespa that can do major Concert Venues around the world.


    And unlike YGE where Teddy is the main Producer for their GGs, SME has no excuse for not giving more content for aespa.


    Let's be honest here, SME are keeping on their Dinosaurs just so they can keep ownership of the Trademark although with the ugly split of many of their groups, it would take a long time for ex-members to band together to make a claim on them.

    Simple:


    We're all tired of NCT

    EXO is undead

    SHINee is old and gay plus Minho's homewrecker scandal is gonna set in any day now

    Super Junior is old and carrying on like grandpa after he broke his hip, just refusing to die out of spite

    TVXQ is over once Changmins cheating scandal sets in


    Taeyeon disappointed the gays

    JoySeul disappointed the gays and YeRene are all that's holding Reveluvs together

    And Kwangya is foreclosing so Aespa is done too
