Anything to reach that sweet sweet multimillion milestone
wow that's alot but then again they got tons of members so if they are doing individual covers it adds up
💀
Don’t know where this chart is from, but it’s incorrect.
You can find other fandoms correcting it too for false additions.
Also, again, as I’ve said before in another thread Face The Sun’s “21” versions was a very popularized false narrative by antis.
They never had 21 or 22 versions.
It is only 5 standard versions for the full album, @@@f1c4d615-203c-4ea9-bada-b297e662b02a@@@ Carat version with 13 album covers (again, they are same as photo cards), you can’t pick and choose who you get. You can purchase the album 13 or dozens of time, but there is no guarantee you will get your bias. And, 1 Target version for Billboard. So, in reality it’s just 7 versions total. No 21 versions. No 22 versions. No 39 versions. Just 7.
Edit: Also, that OP is a known SVT anti that often uses that fake “22” narrative to drag Seventeen, she even incorporated “18” versions for Sector 17, that even I never knew existed. That person just hates most Kpop groups so no surprise as to why other fandoms are also mad.
Edit 2: wanted to clarify, I’m not taking about thread OP, but the twt OP that made the chart.
and over 400 photocards

no 260 when i last checked

That’s kinda similar to the Txt. We got three album version, and 1 Tear version but that one had 5 cover one for each member that you got randomly. Through Sokkolab I managed to buy my bias version because they order the full lot and separate it between buyers.
Yeah, I saw many Moas explaining it wasn’t 8 versions on my timeline, and just 4. The covers don’t change the contents of the album inside.
Personal thoughts about the whole album version issues:
Unless you are Carat I don’t see why it’s a problem. They are the one who gonna have to fork out the money for all that versions.
I understand Army because they didn’t got any album for the solo release but I have a feeling that’s gonna be the future for all of us. Idiots online whining about mass buying and environment so Hybe acts as if this will help the environment.
Unless the solo album sale went down drastically… that would make the company see that sending out some photocard not gonna be enough for the fans.
I’m looking forward to the next Hybe album whatever gonna come out first. I don’t think the Japanese albums are good measure because they are a different market and in Txt case the contributor always orders extra Japanese only versions. The next Korean album would show if they will roll out the same tactic for everything.
Really
op always looking for reasons to drag other groups but cant handle any heat for their own faves lol
Damn it. Leave them out. And read my comment above.
I know you need acorns but choose a better subject next time because if you wasn’t aware Txt got already dragged for the same exact shit already so it’s beyond me why would a Moa call out another fandom on their versions. You gonna be the reason of my blood pressure problems damn it.

I was lowkey confused too, the op is also shading every other group that they don’t stan. 😭

Maybe she wants a hit thread. Maybe don’t know that the very group she stans were dragged through the dirt for it? Personally I don’t wanna see them getting dragged when we have one of the rare days when Moas don’t fight with anybody. Rofl.

Nah, mygsbeat isn't a troll, maybe they were misinformed because of that tweet.
But, a hit thread with just five Carats on AKP is a far-fetched idea, I’d say go for bigger fishes with actual keyboard fighters. 💀
Edit: also, I didn’t mean this thread OP by “OP”, I meant the twt user.

The hit thread could come from army side, not carats side. They are the one who got hit with the worse album versions.
I know she is not a troll, mygsbeat is one of the first Moa who dragged me to the guild. But she tend to make some random threads to get some acorn.
People ovestimate so much the importance of individual versions for most groups.
For example, I will use Stray Kids because I follow their achivements closer. Their 3 standard versions sold 954k on Hanteo before the release of the 8 jewel cases on March 28th. Their numbers are 1,1M (this image is wrong) on Hanteo currently.
So It means It sold on Hanteo less than 146k (If you take in consideration the stardard version is still selling and more than the JC). And since It wasn't sold on US Stores (only the 3 version counts towards BB), I suppose most of the stores were Hanteo certified.
So I wouldn't be surprise If It's the same for a lot of groups, Including Seventeen. Especially If their versions were random like Dontwannacry said.
Plus shipping mine ended up being $55

I still think it’s quite naive to act like number of versions do not affect kpop sales at all. Like the biggest evidence is BTS. Even with a much larger fanbase compared to early 2020, they still aren’t doing Mots7 numbers or they come very close to it.
That shows that even though they had a smaller fandom back then, the number of versions was a big factor for them pulling those numbers.
Obviously I don’t expect sales to increase exponentially with every added version. But we all know these bgs won’t be crossing these milestones if the albums were limited to one or two versions

You are missing the point. No one said It doesn't increase sales. But, for some groups, It doesn't carry the sales as much as people think It does. And It's actually easy to monitor because the versions are separated on Hanteo, so you can see what sell more and what sell less. Some groups also release the versions in different timing the the standard, so It's easier to observe how much It increased.

I’m not sure about Seventeen but for us the additional version was announced much later then the main version, it was less available (at least for me who can’t buy anything from Weverse and not in the US, I think that version was sold there too because they have a contributor)
It was totally random too, except from that one shop who mass ordered them from Weverse and let us pick which member we want (it was more expensive then other shops. )

JYP always add an extra version with Itzy and now the album is selling 900k copies while last month it was at 725K.
It does really help.

If anything all what that points to is how smaller the fandom is compared to the amount of versions they put out. The bigger your fandom, the more sales you can reap out of numerous versions
Again this only shows how these groups are plateauing with their sales and the gimmicks and kinda makes sense why their other stats in other areas can’t grow as fast as their album sales. Their album numbers are highly inflated
