Is it ok for men in their 50s 60s and 70s to go to fanmeets for groups like IVE and NewJeans?

is it ok for 38 year old women to go to fanmeets of boy group which have 16-17 year old members?
she is in age that those could be her kids
yet like Koreans said, those ahjummas go to hair salon, make up stylist, doin nails, and wear rich clothes for those meetings, and you know what, they are giving boys gifts
who knows what they plant there?

older older women really do that at fanmeets? Sounds like they are looking for Sugar daddys. But from a cougar perspective.

Sakura met her father during a fan meeting.
That could have been a good excuse to really go and meet other members.

If they are going to be groomed to pervy old men, it's not happening at a 30 second fanmeet.
The grooming will be coming from old men in their company, their industry, the circles they move in their day to day work. The powerful men with a degree of control, influence and power in the careers of the young idol.
Not the creepy weird old nerd behind a covid screen mumbling some crap about favorite pizza topping.

bro 70s? are they showing up with their cane too??
-
honestly i think fan meets are kinda weird in general

No: fanmeets
No: stanning
Yes: liking the music, going to concerts.
The first two things: who stans when you’re an adult? One thing is likeing your idol or music but knowing the group members every move, life etc?
Fanmeetd: meeting a 20 year old - even 28 like bts as 50? No,. Talk to young people but paying money to talk? No.
A lot of weird behavior in kpop - all ages.
For real

probably an unpopular opinion but i think fan meets should be a thing for kids and younger adults only. like at a certain age you should grow out of liking celebrities so much that you would attend something like that.
Where did the term Uncle fan come from? Wasn't it just used for older men who like their idols like family members?
-
Someone that age should be doing something else w/ their life
-
i don't know but i'm willing to bet a lot of them are lying about liking their favorite idols like family members.

It still isn't appropriate in my opinion. They're young enough to be my own kids and in fact they're younger than my own daughter and really they are just children. One would wonder why middle aged men would be following them in the first place and I think you'll find it's more than just the music. Men do get more lecherous as they get older and I just feel it's creepy.

My dad's paid money to go to meet and greets with his favourite football team more than once. He's 60, they are all early/mid 20's. He gets all fanboyish over it.
I've paid money at nerd cons pre-covid to meet actors and actresses and get a photo.
I don't think theres anything necessarily wrong with grown adults going to meets with other grown adults, as long as behaviour etc is appropriate and least some effort is put into appearance and hygiene.
Saying that...

Yeah, I do think its creepy and weird for older adults (male or female, because sexuality cannot be assumed) to go to fanmeets with teenage/underage/non-adult celebs. BUT as weird as it is, again, if behaviour is appropriate, security is in place and everything is controlled, I don't know if it should be banned outright (and thats without going into the possibility of lots of lost sales). And I still think, in terms of actual danger to young idols, there are far bigger dangers behind closed doors. Look at allegations of Johnny's in Japan, or child talents literally anywhere.

Though I would love to see somebody's great grandpa at a fansign holding a lightstick and wearing the group's merch, just not of a group consisting of babies.

What if it's their last dying wish and they're paralyzed from the neck down?
would still be weird

The whole Industry is really obsessed with youth. If you are old, specialy men, you get constantly witch hunted. In 5 or 10 years. your faves disband and you will realise that you are at the same spot, asked to leave.
I guess i can understand why mature people and the society in general have such a low respect for Kindergartenpop. 😔

Reading the responses in this thread and the other one just proves why no one outside the Kpop bubble will ever take this music genre serious.
Of course it’s allowed as an adult (male and female) to like and stan (I still don’t get what exactly stanning means) younger groups. If they have the money, they are allowed to go to a fansign as well. There are other groomer in the industry we will never see but surely not an adult fan who talks with them for a few seconds at fansigns with tons of staff and manager around.
What kind of weird mindset is it that as soon as you turn a certain age, you are no longer allowed to have any hobbies beside a family and work? It’s not like that.
