It was something I didn't expect, but as I have said in other threads I don't think it is the true end of third gen and certainly not for them. They will make a return but imo their absence will be felt but it's not the end of days.

For BGs yes, but for GGs as long as twice and bp are stil active then they're still good despite them only the last 2

Izone disbandment was the necessary sacrifice (Izone paved the way for Ive, LSRFM and the most successful 4th gen soloist, Yena). And this year, we're seeing Gidle with the SOTY so far for 2022.

No. Seventeen, NCT 127, NCT Dream, GOT7 and Red Velvet are all going strong and having the highest sales of their career with SVT and NCT having massive sold-out tours on the way. Twice is coming back in August. Even mid-tier groups like Astro and Monsta X are still reaching their own sales highs and have sold out shows.

EXO will be back when enlistment finishes. They sold the hell out of DFTF with no promotions, so they'll come back in another few years with no problem.

Actually, since 2021, the two biggest hits of 3rd gen GGs have been Dun Dun Dance and Feel My Rhythm.

Yep, this comeback has been completely overlooked by everyone it seems. Even Reveluvs dont seem to be too vocal about it.

But who's next on line? Seventeen/NCT or Stray Kids/TXT/Enhypen? If it's the former, then it's still 3rd gen.

The top 5 most streamed bg songs on Melon in 2022 are Big Bang, past year BTS songs (Butter, Dynamic, PTD) and NCT Dream Glitch Mode (which is only a little behind the BTS songs).
