whats your opinion on shipping idols?

Ship everyone, let's make a K-pop fleet

Honestly, as a tv show, webtoon shipper(basically fictional character shipper). Sometimes you can't control shipping, it's really weird and it just happens.

So as long as a shipper keeps it to themselves, doesn't try to force a narrative that 2 or more people are dating, know that those people are probably not dating at all, it's fine.

Plus, those wattpad stories are kind of fire sometimes

It's not my cup of tea, but it's not bad as long as you are aware of the limits when it comes to that. You can ship people for fun but don't overdo it by harassing or shoving a particular ship to someone's throat.

if you ship someone seriously, that is definitely weird. but I think most shipping is satire..................

I used to ship people hard but as you get older you just dont really do it anymore my biggest ship ever was Eunhae and they milked that shit. Heechul and Hangeng was also a big ship back in the day that was like so damn real.

Some ships are pretty much fanservice but some of the SJ ships actually looked real.

I think it's weird. My friend ran a TVXQ ship tumblr and a decade later, I still find it both flipping weird and annoying that she quit kpop cold turkey.

no.. I dont think we should be putting idols on ships and turning them into pirates. it happened to Everglow already.

Things have obviously changed, and now there's more "awareness" about how it may make things awkward for the idols, how it's creepy, how it's disrespectful, etc. It turned into this taboo thing that no one wants to talk about.

I've never been into the shipping ordeal much, but it's just a bit of a shock to me how it became taboo over time. It's amazing how just a few years can change everything.

As a fan since the 2nd gen, I share the same thoughts.

How it became a "taboo" topic (taboo to discuss about with others, but not on Wattpad ) is very interesting to me.

We used to have threads like "who do you ship in X group?" in a normalized and fun way, for example. But I actually find nice that fans have this point of view they have these days, since idols don't need to push an OTP anymore.

Older stans grew out of this as well and that helps.

We still see many groups doing fanservice, but not at the same level as the 2nd gen.
