When they watch videos on toasts or hot dogs on the streets, they go "oooh this looks f*cking delicious but... su..gar? Ew" I've seen so many comments like these

I don't understand why they hate it but seems like they cannot understand the sugar combinationㅋㅋㅋ

    original post: here

    1. I hate it too

    2. Isn't bread their staple food just like rice is our staple food? If you put yourselves in their shoes, wouldn't it be the same as being repulsed over sprinkling sugar on your rice?

    3. I hate it too. I like eating it as is way more

    4. Personally, I like bread a lot (it's almost my staple food) so I find it a shame that there is overwhelmingly more sweet breads in our country

    5. I also hate the sugar

    6. It's the same logic as not liking to dip your pizza in honey ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

    7. I f*cking like it

    8. I also find it so-so

    9. I f*cking love it. You need to douse it in sugar

    10. I hate it too... I hate how we make everything sweet...

    11. I also hate it... I just don't show it...

    12. I f*cking like it, it makes it crunchy..

  • Oh lord, I almost threw up. I already hate ketchup with a passion, but to see it smeared all over eggs and white bread with sugar doused on top...

    "Korean food/eating culture"

well I think that poor people who created bibimbap, gimbap, kimchi jjigae, japchae, or even ramyun are now turning in their graves...

  • Apparently they have an obsession with making bread items sweet. Rice, however, is sacred.

I saw someone eating a chocolate cheese ball in Korea and found it weird, but this... :pepenomad:

I watched a video where someone tried Korean street hot dogs and had several different ones. I don't remember them having the sugar one, but I do remember one with a similar red condiment and they said it was more like a spicy sauce, but not as strong as siracha.

Oh! Interesting. I just assumed it was ketchup because of omurice, which is a Japanese thing but I thought Korea may have adopted the egg +ketchup combo for them. Still kinda weird, and probably wouldn't try it myself, but better than I originally thought lol.

The egg one might be ketchup, but yeah that's a lot of sauce for me even for something that I would eat with sauce.

I wanna try the corn dogs that have pieces of potato in the batter. 2x

There's this place here in Cali called Two Hands Corn Dogs. Me and my friends went there to try some, and I must say, they were tasty. :yesr:

  • Yeah I...can't imagine that tasting good lol.I've once tried eggs with just ketchup and it was so nasty, let alone with added sugar:pepenomad:

I get the same reaction when I tell people I add sugar to my tomato soup though, and I always thought that was pretty common:whatb:

Pretty sure some canned tomato soups have sugar. Like, I feel like last time I tried Campbell's tomato soup it was definitely kind of sweet.

  • They just love to add things I never thought should be together...together.

All the idols says it's good but...I think I'll pass.

I can get my head around plain sweet mixed with savoury. I’ve never had one of the corn dogs (not exactly easy to get hold of in small- town suburban England) but I can see the sugar on that *working*, even if it’s a lot. But crab and strawberry jam, no no no.

  • Oh wow, I didn't even know that was a thing!

I hate any sugar in salty foods. I don't even like any fruit or anything in salads or savoury/salty food.

I can get down with some sweet/savory things like chicken and waffles. I also like dipping my bacon/sausage in maple syrup when I have pancakes, waffles, or french toast.

But, I am with you on the whole no fruit in salads thing. I've never been interested in apples, pear, plums, mandarin oranges, or berries in my salad.

Oh really? I wouldn't be able to mix the things you mentioned ^^

I don't even like sugar in sauces or anywhere people put it ^^

But how about a fruits salad :pepe-use-head:

  • I watched a video once and a foreigner who lives in Korea said she is missing break like crazy. The Korean bread is sweet. More like a brioche flavour then a normal bread. That’s why it make sense for them to add sugar on it. What I don’t understand is the stuff what is under it.

    <X

The hotdog looks amazing though. Maybe because I watched lots of variety shows but that something I would love to try one day.

They look incredible. We have a little summer snack stand thing that does the half dog/half cheese stick which is my jam. :mukbang:

  • Nope nope nope. I can't do soggy bread. Makes me gag.
