My Western faves almost never lip-sync honestly. I am not saying that some Western artists never do it but it's still way less current than in the Kpop industry.

Absolutely true. Not a single local would even be able to handle Kpop training let alone a single Kpop comeback.
Imagine being 17 and having to go on harsh diets, forced to weigh under 110 pounds, while slaving for 12-16 hours per day learning vocals, rap, dance and 8 different languages on top of all that.
Imagine always having to put up a perfect expression, constantly being scrutinized every microsecond they're on camera.
Imagine having to perfect your dance moves with 847294 other people.
Imagine comebacks, where you wake up at 1AM to get to the studio by 2AM and spending 16 hours there practicing and waiting and practicing and waiting, and doing this 5x per week for three weeks. Then fans start shading and hating on you for lipsyncing or for a split second weird expression, meanwhile you barely got 2 hours of sleep and you're starving cause you're eating lettuce all day.
No local artist could handle this. They'd quit in a week at most.
