Don't get me wrong I love my sis Chungha, I stayed up for Gotta Go, I was a shooter for Snapping, I streamed Stay Tonight, this is 100% the failing of her company and not her, however it's pretty sad how much potential was failed to capitalize on. Let's relive a brief history...
Chungha's solo career shot to stardom with Roller Coaster, becoming somewhat of a national hit
Then Love U came which didn't get as good reception as Roller Coaster but it was a bop that kept her momentum going nonetheless
Then Gotta Go came out, and although it still failed to live up to the success of Roller Coaster, it arguably became Chungha's most critically acclaimed song
Then Snapping, following the same sound of Gotta Go, which some criticized for being too similar, however it helped establish Chungha's signature sound
The came the Querencia prereleases..... (this is where it started to go downhill)
Stay Tonight, Play, and Stay Tonight were all decent songs, however they got minimal promotion and failed to make waves and the biggest issue was the timing... the first Pre-release was dropped nearly a year before the actual album 'Querencia' was released. By the time Chungha's first full album was released, most of the hype outside of her fanbase had disappeared.
and here we are today... Chungha is by no means a flop, however her career is far from where it could be had her company properly capitalized on her 2019 hype
