Feeling Too Old for Kpop?

I don't think there is any specific age that you are "too old" for Kpop. It's music. You like what you like.

Now it's perfectly normal for the music you like to change over time.

But it's not a specific age number that changes things.

Otherwise 20 years old is still very young, you shouldn't feel old at such a young age. And it's ok to listen to kpop at any age, music is an art but also a hobby it must remain fun above all.

I totally feel you.I was 12 when I got into k-pop,I am now 22,most of the new idols are younger than me and it's blowing my mind.

I don't think you can be ''too old'' to like k-pop.It's just music and entertainment after all,we should all be able to enjoy things we like,as long as it's not done in an unhealthy way.

I started listening to Kpop at the age of 15 and I'm 27 now. lol

But I stopped listening to it for a long time and only grew on me again in 2020.

I got into Big Bang in 2012. I got into K-POP in 2014. Been about 10 years for me too. I am 27, so older than most of the users on this site. I remember I used to get into so many petty arguments. I still do get into some little discussions, but I am much quicker to just say let's agree to disagree instead of going back and forth for like 5 pages of a thread.

I remember the second thread I ever made when I joined this site (on the old site back in like 2017) was basically me saying I didn't think I'd be into K-POP after 26.

And here I am, but yeah, it was kind of true though. I don't keep up with K-POP as I did previously. I don't actively check out new groups like I used to, or try to learn all the members names or anything. I only check out my faves and any really big debuts like the Big 4, Starship maybe, or Cube maybe.

You are never too old for enjoying music, kpop is just... popular music sang in korean. What I do think people can be too old for is taking the fanatism a bit too far, like if you are mid 20s and still obsessing over your favorite group, wanting to know their every move 24/7 then yes. Live your own life and be a fan of any artist but take this for what it is, just a hobby

i got into kpop in 2010 and the only thing is ive lost interest in keeping up with multiple groups. i'll check out music but its not easy to actually "stan" a new group anymore bc i dont have time for all the content and to be interested in the members past a shallow level. as people in our early 20s, there are still kpop stars debuting in our age range (20/21) so it hasnt gotten that weird for me in terms of just liking music and group aesthetics.

I started liking K-Pop in 2007 when I was in middle school. It's 2022 now lol. So 15 years I've been in K-Pop.

Started listening at 17, now I'm 21. I don't feel too old for K-Pop as I'm stanning acts that are either my age or older, but I do start to feel old in general lmao

And as people have mentioned, age shouldn't matter when it comes to music or other interests. Why (subconsciously perhaps) force yourself to take distance from something you like just because you're getting older? Enjoy what you enjoy and keep doing what makes you happy as long as you don't hurt yourself or anybody else With that being said, I still get your sentiment

You're still young. You're going to keep experiencing this feeling for the rest of your life with other things too. It's what comes with aging. The sooner you realize it's nothing to be bothered by, the less it will matter.

In the words of Jin:

“You are only as old as you feel”.

So everyone just feel 17.
