What went wrong with CHERRY BULLET

    they're coming from FNC (house for FT ISLAND, CN BLUE, AOA)

    they have great debut track

    their visual is insane

    their senior is AOA (famous with multiple hits on south korea)

    but somehow they cant even be considered as mid tier group and they are far even from fromis_9/everglow level

    The market is just so saturated that you really have to come out swinging and get something that goes even a little viral to make an impact it seems.

    They were never going to have a big debut, in 2019 the popularity of FNC acts was very low, even AOA was doing badly and iirc wasn't it also the year the whole burning sun scandal involved the two biggest boybands in the company? So they had a bad reputation in top of that.


    One of them was on pd48 but afaik she didn't have a big fandom or recognition so it wasn't helping either.


    And finally, FNC sucks promoting their idols. Maybe they were good with the controversial marketing of AOA before (sexy concepts, Seolhyun vs Suzy, etc) but even that is gone now, and as non-fan I was never interested on checking them out before love so sweet and gp999, the songs and mvs all looked basic and plain (even if I like them now, that's the impression the bad promo gave me) and 3 members leaving also scared any possible fan. Now even after gp999 gave them another chance, FNC isn't doing anything with them, not even a special comeback or something to feed new fans. Atp it looks like they are waiting for the contracts to expire....


    Basically: Zero hype + negative opinions of the company + bad promotions= a nugu group

    Even, or more accurately especially because I was an AOA fan lol I expected nothing from the start. Although I did think they would do better on GP999, especially Jiwon or May because of visuals (Trump wrong gif :pepecute::pepecute: )

    Gotta agree on that 100% 😏 and for some reason part of me wants Bora to hack into all FNC artists' SNS profiles (FTISLAND, CNBlue, AOA, SF9... you name it) to promote Cherry Bullet's next comeback like some Drippin member did with Lovelyz's SNS profiles (jk)

    I am a Lullet and there are a lot of factors.


    Q&A made a bit of noise but right after they came back with Really Really that was less loved in the fandom. Then they stopped giving real news for a moment and the next thing fans learnt was LinLin, Kokoro and Mirae departure from the group. Mirae was the leader and kinda the face of group, Kokoro and LinLin were stan attractors, in particular LinLin. It did not help that no explanation was given about them leaving the group, three members at the same time is a lot.


    After that they came back in 2020 with Hands Up and Aloha Oe. Hands Up was clearly a teen crush concept when the group concept is cute (and they never tried the teen crush concept ever again after that). This song went kinda viral among international fans but nothing on the Korean side and a group like Cherry Bullet definitely need Korean fans. Aloha Oe was forgettable for most and the only reason why the song made some noise this time was because of a CA controversy.


    FNC finally gave them an album in 2021 with good songs and a catchy title track but they did not include their futuristic video game concept that fans love and in a way, it was too late to repair two years of mismanagement, hesitation and lack of promotion.


    I think that Bora, Jiwon and May participation in GP999 can help them for their next comeback if FNC play their cards right this time.

    Yeah and I've got this feeling that if Cherry Bullet doesn't come back this year FNC might disband them without a proper sendoff 😔

    I might as well use SF9 as an example here because IIRC Good Guy was what got them their first win back in 2020 and they even appeared on Kingdom a year later - I mean all these things are some of the ways for a non-big company group to gain the recognition it deserves AFAIK bc imagine SF9 today being in Cherry Bullet's current situation had FNC not pushed those boys for their recognition 😶 (I'm pretty sure SF9 gained a lot of ifans from their appearances on Kingdom that add up to their international fanbase which I assume was pretty much already established by then due to their first music show win in 2020 and perhaps the amount of attention they got among ifans before this 😏)


    That said I hope FNC pushes Cherry Bullet for their recognition the way they pushed SF9 through Kingdom bc just imagine Cherry Bullet getting even their first music show win on a cable music show let alone a public one (and I said that with due respect bc public music shows are so damn competitive you'd probably need a big name to win them 🥲)... I guess ifans would rejoice over this 🙌


    I would like too. Unfortunately some groups got their first win but went nowhere after that. FNC could definitely push them more though.
