[PC] Netizen confused about BTS webtoon being made, which members kept saying no to for a year

I am on knetz side this time. this whole webtoon is pointless

A whole year?? This better be worth it considering there's not much hype for it in the fandom. Hopefully it won't suffer the same fate as bts world.

hope they either didn't spend too much time filming for this content or the hype will still come (in the fandom or outside of it). i really really don't want them to have wasted too much time if it really gets the same fate as bts world.

I don’t see point of this webtoon. They had their own storyline and it seems unfinished by the end of the book, now they start a full new fantasy themed storyline. I loved BTS storyline because it was more realistic. I hope they don’t switch to this one.

Sighhh, the same news channel that said SK gov forced BTS to go to UN? I need more sources than the right wing media before I trust this.

Some Armys run with anything if it fits a narrative they want.

And if anything this proves that BTS chooses what they want and don’t want to do. FILA took a year to convince BTS to sign are people gonna come after them and say it’s pointless to be selling clothes and doing photo shoots.

If you don’t like them don’t look at it.. let them stack up they’re coins.. this is quick and easy money.

And I don’t this is gonna be apart of their music, they haven’t even referenced BU in years.

I have come to terms with the fact that even though BTS are 8.5 years in their career, Hybe will still push these things. Super extreme fan service is what Hybe has been focusing on recently.

I don't like it but it is what it is at this point.

A lot of what they reported was true. Just because it is right wing media don’t throw out the facts.

Anyway this is a bad idea to begin with. The fact RM has said many times in 2021 non music related stuff interfered with his creativity process is very telling.

Their webtoon is the same as their lore. The star seeker. Same with Enhypen’s webtoon-lore. That’s why I’m confused.

I guess BTS had their own sort webtoon already maybe this is an extra story so Army don’t feel left out when they release TXT’s and Enhypen’s webtoon?

It’s just annoying as a fan of the original Save me webtoon they just put that in the finished series section. I guess I can’t complain the story looks interesting. Plus it comes out on my birthday.

Why can't they just draw the members for the webtoon? Isn't webtoon all about illustrated web comics? This is so weird . Seems more like a business move from HYBE & Naver.

I guess it's the commercialization of their image. It seems extreme to me. And at this point of their career, completely unnecessary.

I'm kinda thinking the series should be the round-up for the HYYH storyline.

i don't think we'll see a lot more of it anymore since HYYH was about teens entering their adolescent, about youth and since the guys themselves are 'adults' now I don't think they'l continue the storyline any further.

Wish they could at least finish the bu storyline before starting a whole new one. They made it so complicated over the years only to leave it hanging like it was nothing.

I wonder if the drama series is supposed to clear it more out. Whenever that happens, last I heard it was gonna air at the end of this year but there's only crickets

It does. But adults not without problems either. The way they finished the story is kind of still open.

Maybe next Korean album will continue the storyline… they left it for the BU videos that’s why there is nothing about their lore anywhere…

I live for hybe lashings. This company is so money hungry and for why? i wish they would focus this nonsense on their other groups and leave BTS alone at this point. The only good thing about BTS World was the soundtrack (and RM in a wet tshirt but i digress)

it's like talking to a brick wall with hybe stans They'll stream whatever outsourced radio pop that hybe shovels on them, they don't care if BTS writes and promotes their own music or feels creatively fulfilled or not

True? Where is their source? Did they interview the members themselves?. I will never trust a media forget it’s right wing, one that has past of lying about BTS.

Okay I doubt that this was something the members were super excited to do or something but I don't think the company forced them for a year. Some people do need to use their heads a bit. BTS members are also shareholders at the company so I'm sure that they are also thinking about making money for the company. That's the adult world. They will have to do and promote stuff they don't like. But I doubt that they were forced. They are shareholders and have a lot of power in their work. If they were really against the idea I'm sure they would have stated so. Yeah maybe they haven't been able to do everything they wanted to the past 2 years but I think it is less about hybe and more about canceled concerts. Since they couldn't hold the concerts they planned they needed a way to compensate the income they would have gotten. I'm sure hybe and bts will release a full album once they start touring again. I'm not saying hybe is perfect but I am saying bts have the power to go against what the company decides. They are in their mid to late 20s, they aren't 15 year old kids anymore where they can't stand up for themselves.

Edit: also just realized there is no sources. Not y'all believing a article without a single source of where they got this supposed info from.

i find it weird that you call something like this "unnecessary" at the end of the day, hybe is a company that has employees to pay. bts' general brand is just as much their brand as it is hybes brand on paper and in contracts. companies of this size are always trying to expand on their sources of income. and we all know hybe has to use bts as the face of a lot of their new endeavours to kick it off for their other groups. i think its fine for armys to not want bts to participate in these things, but if the boys agree to it, likely bc they are well aware of everything i just said, who are we to but in as if they need us to "save them" from their big bad company... that they are getting well paid by.

It's been said multiple times by industry folks that you can't really make BTS do anything they don't want to do. Also the source is very unreliable, as others have said. People want BTS to be helpless victims so badly. It's odd.

And if the company never tried to convince anyone for anything they'd be either doing underground music or working at a bodega

The fact that Hybe is a company with employees to pay, doesn't mean they can overdo it with merch and webtoons and what's not.

BTS has made them enough money to last them a lifetime and they were the reason Hybe can make all those ambitious plans and buy companies left and right.

The word brand is what I don't like. For me BTS is a group, artists I really like, not a brand that keeps getting exploited over and over again because some Hybe people want to build an empire using BTS.

Did I say I want to save them? I certainly didn't. I even said I have come to terms with it because it's been the reality for some time. I won't send a truck outside the Hybe offices, I assure you.

I just think that they have been around long enough and they have given fans tons of content to be able to quit doing those things.

Since a lot of Armys are proud and loud about BTS are true artists, these things are unnecessary indeed.

I hope my opinion is clear now.
