I mean nothing against yuri but personally for me her debut song is no where near as good as lost child or marshmallow or nagging or good day or the story only I didn’t know and that’s 5 chances already lol. Iu in her first few years literally had a no-miss discography and it’s hard to beat that

But I never thought IU was a phenomenal vocalist? I mean she’s good. But she’s not popular because She’s Korea’s Best Vocalist but because her songs are chill and have very nice lyrics

Agreed, even people who otherwise might give a hearing will be put off by such comparisons.

Maybe BlackpinkHouse is trying to do the reverse of what WhyKnock does with IU.

yes she has a bigger fandom than a lot of the other popular female soloists, but in terms of GP recognition she's not even in the top ten. ChungHa/Somi/Sunmi/Jessi/Joy/Baek Yerin are all way more popular than her with the average person. Let alone Heize/Taeyeon. IU herself is on a totally different level than anyone else, let alone female soloists. She has four #1 hits this year alone.

I really like IU and on a postitive note, I can definitely see this girl go in that direction, she has potential

same she has a pretty voice but I think she's popular because she's distinct from other solo artists and has built a particular image for herself with her songs/lyrics~
