30. Berry Good

Berry Good was a sweet group from the beginning to the end. Their pure and innocent concept was touching and well embodied by the members.

29. Kiss & Cry

A group who had a lot of potential. They debuted as a vocal group like Spica and Mamamoo, slayed it and then they disappeared. I still follow their main vocalist Dia. She is really talented.

28. Spica

Their concept was mature, different than the rest of Kpop but they were also cameleons who tried many types of song. Theirs vocals are amazing too.

27. Sonamoo

Sonamoo was a very talented group who switched their concept several times and yet t had a true musical identity. They are probably one of the most well-rounded group in the industry. Cushion is one of my favorite songs ever.

26. Ladies' Code

Ladies' Code deserved better and we all know why sadly. They had a retro sound all throughout their career that I love. Their b-sides are also great.

25. Blackpink

Blackpink release bangers and nice songs to jam to. They really reinvented the girl crush concept in their own way. The girls all stand out individually in a good way. I love AIIYL a bit more than PWF but it was hard to choose.

24. 4minute

4minute really owns the girl crush concept for me. I began to like their music in the second part of their career but I think that they released two of the best title tracks ever, Hate and Crazy but also one of the best Kpop albums ever entitled Act.7 (their last one). Hyuna is still really popular but each member has their own charm. Gayoon, their main vocalist has one of my favorite voices in the industry.

23. Prisitin

What a waste of talent. Pristin is totally my type of group. I don't even know where to begin. Pristin had everything to succeed. The members talents are really standing out for me. They were doing bubblegum pop in the industry but in their own way and their songs have their own quirky flavor. Their debut song Wee Woo is iconic. I would have ranked them higher if they were still together these days.

22. IOI

It's exactly the same story as with Pristin, they would be higher if they were still together. IOI is the only Produce group that I stan and I don't regret it. Somi, Chungha, Sejeong, Yeonjung are some of my favorite idols in the industry and I am attached to every of them. They only lasted one year but their music got better with time.

21. Gugudan

Gugudan concept is unique. It's based on books and fairy tales : The Little Mermaid, Charlie and the chocolate factory... Their b-sides are criminally underrated. They have some of the best Kpop ballads as their vocals are really strong and they tried a more experimental approach for their last albums.

20. f(x)

The flamboyant f(x) is an unique group with an exceptional discography. Several of their albums are masterpieces : Pink Tape but also Red Light for example. Their boyish image was refreshing when they debuted in 2009. It's my opinion but they are my favorite girl group for dance if we are only speaking for the second generation. It was like witnessing 5 main dancers who were giving their best on stage. Let's not talk about their vocals.

19. Secret

Secret were able to switch up from a cute song to a sexy song and then slayed the girl crush concept like the queens that they were. Their catchy songs will make you dance before you realize it. Secret was always elegant and their cohesive albums very good. Each of their musical project were well-thought and well-executed. 4 queens.

18. Brown Eyed Girls

BEG members are four artists reunited in the same group, they are still active after 15 years in the industry lead by their passion for music. Their last single was released in January 2020. The level of talent in this groups is exceptionnal. Gain, Narsha and JeA are delighful singers and Miryo is the most credited woman in the industry for royalties. Their songs are daring, mature, sometimes provocative and can be read as a commentary on Korean society and women's place in it. They also deal with universal themes like freedom.

17. Laboum

Laboum the underrated. Their songs are an invitation to dream and travel back in time but also in some imaginary lands. They changed their soft concept for a more mature concept around 2018 but theirs songs' quality stayed consistent. Laboum members are maybe one of the best examples of Kpop singers who don't rely much on lip-syncing. Soyeon is an underrated main singer and a vocal leader who is able to give her group a boost. Their last album Two of Us is exceptionally beautiful.

16. WJSN

In the Kpop universe live the Cosmic girls who are all beautiful stars. I love to see them exploring with their sub-units these days. They are diversifying their good discography. Well-done.

15. Aespa

Aespa are the only 2020 group in this top 30. I love their three songs so far expecially Black Mamba so I think that they have the potential to rise more in my heart. They are the epitome of well-rounded and charming for me. Theirs voices are so distinctive and pleasant. I am ready for more sci-fi adventures in their company.

14. Fromis_9

Fromis_9 bubblegum pop songs are refreshing and comforting. Following this groups is like receiving a daily dose of serotonin every day. Trust Fromis_9 and their sweet members to heal your soul.

13. Girl's Day

Girl's Day and their four deep voices ( a rarity for a female Kpop group). They went from releasing quirky cute songs to elegant sexy songs smoothly. Theirs ballads are underrated and full of nostagia. Girl's Day group name is well-chosen, you will remember the good old days thank to them.

12. Lovelyz

Lovelyz are like the fall fairies of Kpop. Their pure songs will touch you thank to their emotional and strong vocals. They are truly a group who is underappreciated in Korea but also by international Kpop fans, sometimes.

They are a stand-out in the industry, a self-produced group. You want to stan a group of musicians with a good rapper and lovely singers with unique voices ? They are a group for you. They know no boundary and explore musically in the most inspiring way.

10. Oh My Girl

Oh My Girl or the epitome of joyful. Welcome in fantasy land. Some good fairies leaned over each member cradles. They have the it factor, a discography full of gems and their recent success is so well-deserved.

9. Purple Kiss

Purple Kiss are refreshing because they are surprising. They can release a serious dark song like Ponzona and then a dark humour song like Zombie. They are heading for inventing their own style. They can rap, produce, sing and dance in a satisfying way. They are confident on stage and they don't look like a rookie group.

8. Cherry Bullet

Cherry Bullet are your cute group of gamers but they are also unpredictable in a good way. I am still a bit sad that Mirae, LinLin and KoKoro left but I follow the remaining members because I love Cherry Bullet.

7. SNSD

A legendary group and their popularity is well-deserved. I am so glad that all of them are doing well these days, their talent is impressive and some of their songs are classics that I love from the bottom of my heart. The original and relatable girl next doors. No one can perform like them. They clearly started some Kpop music trends.

6. Dreamcatcher

The most unique female group in the industry for me. They have no fillers, all theirs songs are amazing and musically interesting. I can see all the members going solo one day, they have the talent for that. They are slaying their difficult choreographies and sing so well. Their rock/EDM sound sometimes leans toward metal and their dark fantasy concept is fascinating.

5. Twice

The Nation's Girl Group. The group in which all the members stole my heart at some point. I don't even know where to begin with them. They are so likeable. Their discography is well-produced and top tier. They never disappoints me with their comeback and their stages are top tier too. They are so good at performing and deserve more credit for their talent than they have sometimes received. I was not particularly for them to change their concept like a lot of people were asking for it in 2018 but their concept change was smooth. Twice keeps undoing themselves with quality albums.

4. Gfriend

Gfriend members are all graceful and no one can tell me otherwise. Often melancholic, sometimes joyful, Gfriend are made of six elegant singers and dancers. Their choreographies and dance formation are the best to me, their vocals are majestuous. Their songs really resonate with me on a personal level. Gfriend is one of a kind.

3. Apink

Apink is the first girl group that I have ever stanned and for this reason, they have a special place in my heart. The members are all so sweet and nice. They share a beautiful bond. They did the cute concept like no one and then they evolved positively into a mature girl group with a girly concept. They depict a realistic vision of love in their songs who are often intropective. To me; Apink feels like home and I am glad that I grew up with them.

2. Mamamoo

Mamamoo's playfuness shows through their stages, their interactions and their songs. Mamamoo has always delivered an inspiring message to their fans by encouraging them to be themselves. That's the reason why they are daring with their musical choices and have a lot of fun in what they are doing. They have fun on stage and sometimes resort to self-mockery in their songs. Their discography is amazing and highlights their huge talent. Each of them have a true passion for music and is currently exploring their own musical universe.

1. Red Velvet

The surprise is total, no ? Red Velvet never fails to bless my ears, warm my heart and heal my soul. The fusion of their five voices is a precious treasure that I don't want to loose. They have my favorite discography of course. One Of These Nights, Cool World and Kingdom Come alone would make me choose their songs first. I love their precious bond and I hope that Red Velvet and ReVeluvs will stay together for a very long time.
