The whole 'my faves have this award/achievement your faves don't have' is getting so tiring and puerile. Like who cares? I'm here to listen to the music. If the music is good, I might stan, if not, I don't care. What difference does it make if you rub the fact that my fave group does not have x y z awards or a billion views on youtube? Why should anyone care?
I'm so tired of 3rd gen stans' obsession with achievements

The funny thing is they brag like it is their achievements.
Imagine a kid bragging a car that it isn't his

:Sadly, it is very common too.

-
numbers are boring music is interesting
-
-
is you're anger or wraith targeted only towards the 3rd gen or all gen fans for preaching their achievements ?
Honestly, 3rd and newer generations are the whole new level when it comes to this!
-
Because everything is a competitionI just listen to my faves and watch the success stans fight

recycled thread. :D

This is probably the thousandth thread with this exact same title and sentiment.
I need to get things off my chest

Perhaps I'm generalizing, but 2nd gen stans simply don't care about numbers as much as 3rd and 4th gen stans.
Honestly, 3rd and newer generations are the whole new level when it comes to this!
so the issue isn't the posting of achievements per se but rather the frequency of the postings ? would that an accurate statement ?

2nd gen stans in here lying

Like bitches be out here working at McDonalds but fix their lips to call a kpop group flops for selling 600k albums instead of selling 1mil like their faves it's weird lmao

"*insert idol name* is the first person born in Gwangju in February who is 181cm tall has shoe size 6 who achieved over 50 000 spotify streams in under 48 hours, from people in at least 20 countries which are not members of the NATO"
seriously this is the main page in allkpop fro the past year and also the forums...
like how do fans even think of those

Ikr some of them get so specific that it's ridiculous at tis point.

I agree that it’s all about achievements nowadays. Well, there is no need to be pressed over another group achievements and there is no need to endlessly about a group achievements.
I really hate success stans’s habit to want something for theirs faves or to refuse something for them because they think that it’s going to ruin their success. It should be about the music first. If a group takes risks out of passion for their job then it should be acknowledged by their fandom and not rejected.

Yes, kinda...
And the amount of things they find as achievement. Before achievement was to get year award. Now, it is 1000 thing.

I always find it funny.Awards and titles can be so rigged these days (in the past too probably) you can buy views, you can have connections with snakemnet to evil edit your competitors,
you can be an in debt company and waste money you don’t have on your groups, then crumble.I don’t trust achievements since the whole yt views competition began with the 3rd generation. The only exception when I’m happy with achievement is when my fave group has a Daesang since it’s domestic recognition...that’s about it.

I think I see your point - that within the third generation things that weren't considered an achievement suddenly became and achievement and also that each of the "so called achievements" sorta dilutes the true meaning of what an achievement actually is - would tht be a fair statement?

Celebrating your faves' achievements loudly with other fans isn't obsession, it's just part of being a fan

Exactly, nowadays people are complementing their idols more for their accomplishments, rather than their actual music.
And its a really dumb mentality, since we all should be together helping kpop grow, but some people get their ego massaged when they bring other peoples artists/groups down, while bragging about theirs.
Sadly most of this behavior comes from the new fans.
