Each time dreamcatcher releases a new song i get my expectations too high thinking they'll get their first win only to be letdown.

What i don't understand in Dreamcatcher's case is that they keep on growing with album sales and YouTube views yet they struggle to get a single win not even on the show, hopefully their next comeback is the one .

Sad part is most of the ones you listed will never get a first win since they disbanded….

2016 boy groups are doing well tho? NCT, Astro, Pentagon, SF9 have all made a mark for themselves.

NCT are daesang-level now, Astro's latest albums have been selling over 300k, SF9 are rising after Kingdom, and even Pentagon have their niche.

I think 2017 boy groups should be applauded. Unfortunately, a lot of them debuted under the massive shadow of Wanna One so they weren't able to make a mark. I can only think of Golden Child, ONF, and Victon from that year.

2017 was the shift in the industry, I need more people to realize that. I think 3rd gen was over by the end of 2017.

Nct, ofc being from SM helped them but they are actually outperforming most of bgs in the industry

Then there's astro, they have Cha Eunwoo, all members are working and the group is growing sales each comeback, winning on multiple shows and even the Moonbin and Sanha unit sold well.

Pentagon, Victon and sf9 also got wins and their sales keep growing, they have popular and trendy members, etc

2017 ggs have it way harder, reminds me of all the 2013 groups (except for bts)

Ah, you're right. They debuted in November 2016 I think so I keep thinking they're 2017 rookies.

I think the most successful 2017 rookie has been The Boyz, but I consider them 2018 rookies lol.
