One thing I don't like about Kpop fans when a member leaves a group

  • I know, but the crazy thing is it mostly is fans of the group. Like with Stray Kids, I almost never ran into a fan who was Woojin biased, then when he left it was trending everywhere "Stray Kids is 9" "They are nothing without his vocals" only for Stray Kids to continue to get more popular.

Idk why he left but sometimes I think they do it to show support to that person who leaves.

Also I feel like most ppl don’t care about the reasons to why the members leave. Like some with bullying incidents , for those with evidences and what not, some ppl are only upset that their faves leaving but don’t think about the victims at all.

So what I am trying to say is, it’s comes from a place of selfishness and ignorance.

  • I get that, but people say that whenever a member leaves in a dramatic fashion like this regardless of whether they were the most popular or not. And I think groups can always continue after losing a member. The only time I can see it really affecting them is when a member is involved in the song-writing process (like GD, Soyeon, or B.I) because the group is losing their sound in multiple ways.

Yes, I agree. Some people are just being dramatic (not to be condescending, it is dramatic to see your group torn apart especially when the reasons feel like BS. I'm sympathetic to watching your faves disintegrate.) I'm annoyed at Soojin being thrown under the bus and I do think the group's sound will shift a bit, but this won't have the same hit to (G)I-DLE that losing Soyeon would have. Kind of like Woojin... he clearly contributed to SKZ's sound as the strongest vocalist, but it's not the same as if Bang Chan had left.

(And Seungri's akgaes are something else, woo boy. The arrogance to think he was anything other than the weak link.)

  • I think their intentions are in the right place, but it just comes out wrong.

OTx fans don't have 100% pure intentions. They're often virtue signaling or they're treating a group of people like a collector set whose value decreases when the set is not "complete."

"And they escorted her to a prison cell..."

Oh this is definitely true. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and just think they're trying to be supportive even though it comes out wrong, but definitely a lot of them also have this mentality. It's hard to tell the difference.

  • To be honest following way before Wonho left so i don't know about their domestic popularity so I'm glad they're still doing well

Yeah I've been following since debut. They always had a very supportive fandom internationally. It was like

    1. BTS

    2. EXO

    3. Got7

    4. Monsta X

    5. Seventeen

    ==wall==

    Everyone else

After Wonho left Monsta X hardly ever trends internationally so I thought they were just majorly flopping but if you looks at their charting on Gaon since Wonho left, they're doing much better than they were from 2016-2019.

  • I'm glad that even though they lost international popularity they gained it back else where and especially in Korea it helps their longevity

  • I remember as the thing with B.I happend people did it so wrong ... first everyone was like "Overly worried because he was seen sitting at a river not moving for hours" and than everyone was like "Blah blah blah YG blah blah put him back into iKON blah blah iKON will be nothing without him blah blah"

After a few weeks people allready acted than like if they were not crying for a week in a row on social media that he left and it came off like if they forgot that he was even a member

Its also weird how some people get treated when leaving and someday returning in the "public" no mather if they become a soloist or apear in other kinds of form

    What I mean:

    • Wonho (MONSTA X) returned as soloist -> "OMG WONHO YES WE LOVE YOU AND WE ARE SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU BACK OMG DUDE!"
    • Laun (ONF) apeared on Instagram -> "OH MY FUCKING GOD ITS BEEN A MINUTE! WE NEED TO SPAM HIS INSTAGRAM AND TELL HIM HOW MUCH WE MISSED HIM BECAUSE OMG HE IS BACK AND WE CRIED SO HARD AS HE WAS GONE BECAUSE LITERALLY WE MISSED HIM!"
    • B.I (iKON) returned as soloist -> "Oh dang, he is back huh? Been a hot minute"
    • Hwall (THE BOYZ) apeard on Instagram -> "Oooooh he is actually kinda hot"
    • Choa (AOA) apeared covering songs on Youtube -> "WoOoOoW that she even had the audacity to show back up, but anyway glad that she is doing fine"
    • Woojin (Stray Kids) returned as soloist -> "How dare you! We don't like people like you! Go freak yourself! ... but I might check out your music..."

.... and so on ... its kinda weird

    A.C.E | ATEEZ | DRIPPIN| MCND | NU'EST | ONF | SF9 | Stray Kids | TFN

  • And Infinite Hoya was a big case- freaky reactions
