Kinda been wanting to do this for a while so here goes.
I got this inspiration and examined the MV a bit further when one Youtube comment mentioned that the MV represents the various stages of Grief
The Kubler-Ross Model/Five Stages of Grief Model demonstrates grief through 5 main emotions; Denial, Anger, Barganing, Depression, Acceptance
Denial: Represented when Young K is in denial when his wife/fiance/girlfriend leaves her ring and choose to leave him.
He accidentally drops the ring
And goes back to get it, hurting himself in the process. He is still in denial of what happened when she left him
The lyrics that played during that part also went
I hate you
I try to walk away
but it's easier said than done
because you're in front of me
Anger: Represented by Wonpil, who was in a broken family and lashes out and tears everything down. At this part the lyrics goes
Slowing beginning to crack
knowing I will break
but I was still holding on
Barganing: Dowoon, losing his dog, asking everyone he meet if they saw his dog
Depression
And finally Acceptance, where the members who are caged up finishes their performance, and accept that it is over. The last part of the lyrics of the song also goes
So I guess
Now I’ve got to go
This is the end of my love
You would
Never blink an eye
Oh so I guess
Now there’s no more us
Because you no longer
Need me anymore
Through this MV, Day6 conveys a strong message about Grief and the different stages of it.
The song title "Right Through Me" is also demonstrated through the 3 members
When the concrete drops onto Wonpil
When everyone ignores Dowoon and just walk past through him
And of course Young K crashing right through the glass
What do you guys think about the MV?
