Do people just not like happy songs?

I like happy Songs
We all need a good happy song
-
I love happy, fun and uplifting songs, but it depends on the song itself just like any other style.

Which makes total sense, it's okay to not like something as long as you're still respectful (which I'm sure you are). It's just unfortunate some people are grumpy and actively hating on happy songs LOL

Tbh I am not sure I agree with the sentiment, I have never noticed a pattern of people specifically hating on "happy" songs.
But just because I didn't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen of course.

Yeah true and maybe I'm just seeing the wrong things. its okay tho
-
-
because happy songs are quote "generic".
stupid logic of kpop fans but gp definitely likes happy music

-
The world needs more people who are accepting of all types of music
-
they remind me of kids songs so cringe

Happy songs are different for different people. Just because a song has bright or 'let's be happy' lyrics doesn't make it a happy song for me personally.
For example, 1D's live while we're young is a typical happy song but it didn't make me any happier listening to it.
A bright song that brings me lots of joy recently is Nct dream's Hello future but so do many other songs that don't sound anything like this. To say people dislike happy songs as a blanket statement is untrue tbh.

I like happy songs, it’s sad songs I don’t like,
-
I’m just harder to please with happy songs. They just don’t display as much emotion and variety for me.
-
like anything else, I think it depends on the song. I really doubt there's a huge group of people hating on upbeat songs simply cuz they're "happy". It's more likely that they dislike specific aspects of the song or the execution and people who disagree are just boiling those opinions down to "you just dislike happy songs". It's just like when people criticize other things and people write those opinions off by saying they're just "haters" or "jealous".

Well for me it doesn't matter if it's happy, sad, emo, or whatever as long as it's good and not boring. Generic songs tends to be boring, but not only happy songs that could be generic. Ballad songs can be generic and boring too.
I personally prefer songs that has different sections or creative instrumental. But sometimes I do listen to generic songs too if the vocals is really good or at least the vocals is mixed well.
