They are 3rd gen because they debuted earlier but it's true that people disregard them like they don't exist when they are as young as any other big 4th gen group and they outsell all of them, they are 3rd gen but debuted as teens and people truly don't realize how scary NCT Dream's potential is knowing the age of their members. They are as young as any other 4th gen group but as their situation was unstable, they only released like 1 mini per year, but now that they will release their 1st full album after their mini last year sold 700k they will be pretty ahead of their actual competition. It's a group with everyone except Mark born on the 21st Century and with just 4 mini albums and 1 incoming full album on 5 years what we are talking about. Their members will start enlisting on like 2028 and they could easily become million sellers with their next release as NCT Dream.

Yeah, nct dream situation is weird, they're a 4 year group but their age is like a new debuted group. Has SM said if they'll keep them as a regular group?

number of music doesn't matter, Blackpink has less songs than even some 4th gen groups but they are super popular

man NCT Dream had whole 5 years to establish fanbase, why u comparing them to other 4th gen groups? SKZ has only been 3 years, and releasing lots of music is not easy especially when one group writes & composes all of their music, releasing lots of eps & albums have disadvantage, since fans are limited by money not everyone can buy every albums they have released, while having few albums fans are more affordable to buy every albums thus individual album sales can be high, it's simple math

Also Dream was mostly in dungeon, they hardly performed as a full group, 2 members are almost always missing, had a weird graduation system, SM didn't gave two shits about them and focused on promoting 127. Their last comeback come out of nowhere, barely promoted and called it a day.

and bringing number of songs which is not really relevant to popularity at all lol
it's not like SKZ is also well promoted by JYP, they have done everything by themselves from their songs to brand image,
