    1. I don't understand why they must copy things and make them lower quality

    2. I saw it and it looked so tacky... Maybe it's the difference in quality

    3. No but honestly if you don't think this is similar... You have no shame. Just don't say anything

    4. I don't care about either of them and they're both similar

    5. If this was that "common" why didn't ILLIT do it first then?... ㅜㅜ

    6. They claim SNSD are the first ones to do it, but Min Heejin was the one who did it with SNSD

    7. It may be common, but it's interesting how they're only being associated with NewJeans ㅋㅋ

    8. It's indeed similar, let's just call it what it is ㅋㅋ

    9. Wow they're so similar, but somehow NewJeans' one still feels fresh

    10. They could've been successful without all the copying too...

    1. I'm a K-pop muggle and I thought it was NewJeans

    2. Where are all the people who would swarm at us calling it "forced hate" when we even dare say something is similar?

    3. As a muggle, I can't differentiate them

    4. This is not NewJeans? Even the hairstyles are so similar, I seriously don't even know who's who

    5. I always thought they were similar, but since I'm a muggle, I just can't bother to fight

    6. The thumbnail alone looks so much like NewJeans?

    7. I just feel bad for the members... They're charming enough on their own, so why do that?

    8. It's seriously exactly the same, and they even copied their style

    9. I literally thought this was NewJeans

    10. Honestly, just looking at the thumbnail, I thought it was NewJeans

[theqoo] HOW MUCH OF NEWJEANS DID ILLIT'S COMPANY STEAL FROM THEM?

Regarding the ILLIT plagiarism issue, the court stated, "It appears that NewJeans' concept is reflected quite similarly in ILLIT."

The court added, "While this might ultimately work positively for ADOR in expanding the market itself, there were no procedures to seek prior consultation or understanding (from the defendant)."

"In this situation, the issue of plagiarism raised by defendant Min Heejin appears to be justified," the court mentioned.

    1. Wow I would've believed if you told me this was one team

    2. They seriously stole every single thing

    3. Hul it was this bad?

    4. Honestly it's all stolen

    5. They're f*cking thugs

    6. NewJeans are pitiful

    7. Where are all the law experts~~~

    8. This is so cringe.. They have 0 originality

    9. Wow the collection is legendary

    10. If NewJeans never existed, ILLIT would've never existed

  • Starting to feel really bad for Illit. I feel like this will hunt them throughout their whole career! To be known as that group that plagiarised/copied NJz

I think what they went through debut year is worse than this . I think the main problem for Illit is their ceiling lowered because of the ongoing drama. I don’t think they will be able to reach the heights of groups like Aespa , Ive, and NewJeans. Maybe their ceiling is now in the tier of Idle, LSF, Nmixx, and Itzy. Thats not bad since those groups a very successful but the goal is to reach the tier of the 3 groups I mentioned and eventually reach heights of Twice, Blackpink, SNSD, etc.

  • This whole controversy is honestly funny. Lots of people just switch up depending on who wins the court case. Every time there’s a ruling, it’s the same posts, just with the crowd siding with whoever won.

Tbh, they're mid tier with 5th Gen (saleswise). Baemon takes the crown lol

Stan Gidle and you’re putting Illit to the same tier to them :cryingr: These girls have back to back hits and are currently selling out STADIUMS please.

LSRF had two top ten in Korea last year and they have great streams meanwhile Illit relies on virality they do not have a strong fanbase like Baemon.

Tbh who knows! They can still top charts and they do have a big fandom so anything is possible (heavily depending on the music of course!) but they will most likely have this perception of them lingering their whole career regardless what they achieve. Made worse because NJz career was cut short and are not currently active/making music and have lost a member/possibly lose more.

Illit will be such an easy target (I know it’s not the actual girls fault but they would be an easy scapegoat now, I mean look at what knets are saying already)

  • Because it's not mere inspiration lol. Just look at this post and tell me if you don't think the similarities are there and so many that the thread refuses to end.

Also Illit seems to have no identity of their own. That's a big problem.

  • Some of those plagiarism examples are so weak. Wembanyama level of reach going on there, but it was always going to come back up after a poot reading of the latest court judgement.

  • Stan Gidle and you’re putting Illit to the same tier to them :cryingr: These girls have back to back hits and are currently selling out STADIUMS please.

Sorry, this was more regarding their peak. Illit will have the ability to have a successful tour and are currently one of the top kpop groups in Japan. I just don’t think their peak will reach the top 3 groups mentioned . I think they would fall in tier below them which Idle and LSF fall under. However, they probably won’t be as successful as them and might fall more in line with itzy

Tbh, they're mid tier with 5th Gen (saleswise). Baemon takes the crown lol

Babymonster isn’t charting that well domestically though. I think they’re about even

  • I did say saleswise....

    :meme-stare:

Charting well means bugger all if you don't pull in the sales, like ILLIT or KiiiKiii

I think charting is more important than sales . Also, illit is performing fine in sales . Their sales will improve and they’re gaining popularity by producing quality music . I think we have to realize single albums usually sell much less. I think getting a viral hit is more important than getting unit sales.

I think this is very true because the music industry is unpredictable . Just a couple of months ago who thought nmixx would have one of the biggest hits or KiiiKiii would have a #1 hit after questionable sales for the same release. I think we all like to discuss things and predict how groups will perform but we can’t predict how the general public react to releases. Timing is everything and we’ve seen groups come back when things weren’t going well

Anyway,I’m guilty of predicting the worst but Illit has had many moments when people thought they were out and they recovered . They seem to be a resilient group and should be fine imo

  • Stealing direct PLANS from people in your own company is VERY DIFFERENT than being inspired by world media.

Are you deliberately trying to be obtuse? Or do you not realize what happened.

LSFM does not belong in that sentence

  • Overall my sentiment is this :

Yes ILLIT and HYBE stole and plagiarized MHJ’s plans to create ILLIT

But I also believe this is very common in kpop and companies always debut acts copied from their previous success formula.

The real issue is Ador was led to believe that they’re an independent entity and not like SM/YG etc that can just copy concepts between their groups and share development plans.

I even think HYBE wanted MHJ to do that and sis just straight up refused

The crux of the matter imo is not whether it’s morally right to share concepts and plans between groups (because kpop always does that) but the fact that ADOR believed themselves to be independent and HYBE did not. Which is why HYBE wanted to oust Ador.

  • If I may add my thoughts to it.

I think HYBE wanted to restructure ADOR to be like SouMus, are there are parallels between what they wanted to do, and how the founder of SouMus is only an internal director (with the odd techincal help now and them with LSF's CBs) now on its board, and how he owns 20% of the label, too.

  • it's common for a group that replaces and older group to go with a similar formula (i.e. 2NE1 and Blackpink). To have 2 active groups within the same company (HYBE) competing on the same concepts is not common.

  • it's common for a group that replaces and older group to go with a similar formula (i.e. 2NE1 and Blackpink). To have 2 active groups within the same company (HYBE) competing on the same concepts is not common.

This is just semantics old or new doesn’t even matter in the legal sense . Baemon and BP are both active and very much have common concepts right now. And SM BG’s at one point were so common (just thinking back on 2019/20 Shinee EXO NCT release is hilarious) that the biggest drag used to be “sounds like NCT” to any release from SM

So yeah it’s VERY common in kpop companies. But HYBE wanted to have the cake and eat it too. They acquired and created a company system promising independence when the truth is they just wanted a short cut to have a dynasty like SM/YG etc and then ousting anyone who opposed it.

  • Im ngl I dont know why people are acting like anything has changed with this recent ruling.

Correct me if im wrong but the stuff said about the plagiarism has already been said in other cases during this. They have already said MHJ was within her rights as CEO to report plagiarism before and that yes there are obvious similarities anyone with functioning eyes and brains can see, and we knew about the internal documents, but the court is still not calling it plagiarism.

We are basically just re-hashing discussions about the same shit. Literally nothing changed regarding this.
