I think eventually a different group will reach a similar level/popularity. Like BTS, Blackpink... I know it's uncommon but it's bound to happen someday. It's just a matter of time. It's a shame NewJeans isn't able to truly appreciate their own impact on the industry as a group in the way BTS or even Blackpink had.

im not talking about success but which groups can continue serving songs similar to Ditto, Attention, OMG, ETA and the overall sound. groups that try to imitate that from nj flop or dont succeed and then switch to something else, so it needs to be a more consistent group
-
i always thought triple s was the most similar to NJ sound wise. them having 24 members was a mistake.
-
-
Well, they’re pretty much gone from the industry for real, it's been at least three years. By then, even most of their fans will be gone and kpop fans won't even remember them much. So whether OP doomposts after 3 months, 6 months, or even a year later, it won’t make much difference. The longer it drags on, the more people lose interest. So honestly, this is the perfect time to doompost before everyone moves on and stops caring. Sucks for the girls, but that’s the reality fans don’t wanna face

Them from a nugu company was THE mistake

That's nice.
It's been three months. Their songs actually CLIMBED on the charts this week, and their Spotify streams and album sales are ludicrous for a group that hasn't released any new music in a year.
NewJeans is already one of the most accomplished and popular groups in K-Pop history.
When they return, everyone will tune in and watch and listen.

isn’t SM already there with Hearts2heart and quickly put them out after NJ left?

88rising nugu? they had a good run pre covid with artist like Joji and kinda died down a bit since, but they've always been pretty big in the asian community here in the states.
88rising nugu? indeed...they just had a huge music festival...all jackson wang did was show up and everyone lost their minds...all DPR members were there, tabber, dean, several popular japanese groups..88rising is amazing.
I don't think they know what exactly 88rising is about lol

Why do they need to be replaced
They are hags. Some members are already in their twenties.
-
In terms of being the top group in Korea, they've already been replaced by Aespa.
Very very interesting that a former SM mastermind MHJ somehow ended up sabotaging THREE Hybe groups all at once, leaving a power vacuum that SM was happy to fill with Aespa lol.
In terms of musical concepts and visual aesthetics, i think we will eventually see the end of NJ style. Aespa has dominated by going completely opposite NJ aesthetics. Katseye making waves outside Korea while Mayday shocks everyone in Korea, both nowhere near NJ in concept. Blackpink fever could once again take hold as well.
We could see the return of more edgy noise music, rather than NJ stripped down style. We're already seeing most of the 4.75 gen groups flopping and making no impact using NJ formula.
-
ILLIT didn't miss their chance... They became BSH's abandoned daughters!
-

Some? Darling... The were hags when they debuted. Even old by MHJ's standard. I bet she was the REAL mastermind behind that Under 15 programme...
-
-
Where, in the courtroom? Maybe MHJ.

-
-
nobody that has already debuted.
Hopefully other companies can recruit their main producers 250 and FRNK so we can get a taste of their music at least.
At least we got a bit of FRNK with Fujii Kaze as of a few weeks ago

Three month? it's like years since their last single and they have been in the dungeon since MHJ conflict and did they not "terminate" their contract in november? not sure how you can call that "three month".

3... +3... +3... +3... = 12... Did you forget that their last CB was in June 2024?
-
in kpop even a moderate comeback hiatus can feel like a lifetime.

We will need to see how many of those current streams translate into support for the new NJ
In the past, there wasn't many group that able to replicate the success after regroup at new company. The last one i remember was Highlight and that success only lasted 2 eras before they started to flop
Im sure msot will tune in if NJZ ever come back. But like many said, it will be a year or 2 at least before they can come back (sigh) and who knows what will happen then

I meant 1 year of cource, not "years"

Since when has TripleS been directly under 88rising? They're from Modhaus and faunded by Jaden Heong, ex Loona's creative director. WTF? I don't even know they had any connection to 88rising, but even if they do, it’s like saying Billlie isn’t from a nugu company just because their company is a subsidiary of SM.

Yeah, 3 months isn’t a long time for people to forget them, but the girls won’t be coming back for at least 3 years. Over time, their songs will fade from the charts, and their albums will probably stop selling too. It’s just how things go.
3 years later, huge portion of their fans will move on, and so will the general public. And honestly, the most important part here is, in 3 years, some of the girls might have moved on too from kpop and entertainment industry as a whole. We might never get a Nj redebut at all. That “future” you are waiting for might never actually happen.

I know 88rising, but TripleS is not under them, Gidle is

I just saw GD and 2NE1 at the 88rising HITC Music Festival, and people are acting like they're nugu?
K-Pop communities are so cooked on the international side.
not one but three people agree that triple s is under 88rising now like where did you all even get that memo from? even me as fans didn’t know that 🤣 oh to be loud and wrong
