I just get so sick of people giving commentary on groups they barely even follow. It's honestly just laughable some of the stupid stuff you see people say about certain groups because they clearly just formed their opinion of them through comments on social media and have never actually engaged with the fandom or groups content. Please stop, you just end up looking foolish most of the time.
Stop talking about groups you don't stan

Is it okay to react to bop or flop threads? I like those. And I try to remain respectful with disliking a song. I am curious of new releases though. I call it 'giving a chance to have another bop on your playlist'.
But yes. People should stop with trying to be an "expert opinion" on groups they don't know. It's okay to dislike but why do they have to go: "oh, I know their formula really well even though I was not into kpop for most of their careers and I don't know their discography any more than some title tracks but oh well I have an opinion".

Yes this is largely what I'm referring to, my thread titles are never meant to be taken literally. To me it's really not much different from arguing with an expert in their respective field if you're just some novice. Perhaps calling kpop stans "experts" is a stretch, but that is sort of the case if you heavily stan a group.
It depends. But I know what you are referring to so yes. Sometimes non fans create weird rumors about a group bc of their wrong interpretation and it could become something like toxic (?)
Over analysing situations isn't good, specially when you don't know the groups dynamic.
This thread was inspired by some recent commentary but it is still something that I see even beyond that. I don't really feel like going through a bunch of specific examples but again it's just stuff that makes me think the person has literally never watched any of the groups content or engaged with the fandom. I guess one example would be when I see people calling groups boring or smthing but they have never watched any of their variety content, it just makes no sense. Anytime I've ended up watching a lot of a groups variety stuff, I end up with a completely different perspective on the group. I think Blinks and ARMY deal with it the most as the biggest fandoms, but it's everywhere.

Pretty stupid.
So is your inability to look beyond thread titles and actually understand the content of the post.

At the end of the day, people love arguing (I admit I enjoy it too, but not really when it comes to kpop).
People will use anything to make themselves feel better…

If only everyone would just want to talk! Many people just want to bash so they make it like there is no possibility for anyone else to be right! It's exhausting to keep up discussions like that and it leads to nowhere. I would be open to more discussions with the right energy but it is seldom so! 🥲

Sometimes fans of other groups will talk shit about things they clearly have zero info about, imo it's a good thing cause fans of the actual group can correct them about that. Lots of misinformation coming from non fans so I agree about your title and the craziest part is that the most misinformed someone is the loudest they tend to be and clueless people will buy what they're saying because they have no idea about anything either.
I think in this case the actual fans should put an effort to be even louder, but i also learned that people will believe what they want to believe regardless of the truth, unfortunately. At least when corrected they can look like the clowns they are.

But no. As human beings we are set to judge everything and everyone. Don't give so much attention to people that disagree with you, your opinion should be the most important one to you. It's not like Babymonster has a whole hate train going on.
Maybe this is being interpreted as a BABYMONSTER related post but I assure you this was just a general thought, I was actually thinking more about other fandoms than BABYMONSTER.
other examples I've seen and had in mind were:
people coming and in claiming they know what's best for tokkis and the group in the mega thread.
trying to tell ARMY what's best for Suga and BTS following all that drama and HYBE drama. Stuff like that.
or just in general commenting on dynamics of groups you don't stan or claiming to know the general feelings of fandoms you don't even engage with
It's okay to have opinions obviously but people just often take it too far and end up sounding dumb/spreading misinformation.

One problem with this view is that fans of groups are biased and their "truth" is not always the truth.

Well I don't like that and I don't think anyone does, but no that wasn't the point of the thread. Legitimate criticism of groups is fine, I made a whole thread criticizing baemons clik clak. My issue is with uninformed, disingenuous criticism and is what the op is referring to. Maybe the point was don't speak on things you know nothing about. Lot's of bold kpop stans out there willing to do that.

One problem with this view is that fans of groups are biased and their "truth" is not always the truth.
That's something that can easily be proven or disproven with actual data. And trust me, when it comes to data 99% of the time it's usually the fans, and not the haters that have it since they follow the group. I understand that sometimes they are biased, because pretty much every fan only cares about their group and focus only on them without seeing the full picture, so their info can be cherry picked, but I don't see it as a big deal since it's usually very easy to find info about kpop groups and prove fans wrong if that's the case. It would only be a problem if people are lazy to go after the truth, and if they aren't speaking based on facts and actual data then it comes back to op's title.
