They need to catch up, it’s about time
I guess it's time for Wonyoung (or Yujin) to release a solo song too.

To be honest, I don't like this expectation for every popular female idol to release a solo.
I blame the Blinks who put pressure on YGE to give each member a solo, even if it meant group activities had to be put on hold. A lot of them were Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé akgaes or anti-Jennie Blinks who knew they could leverage the "Jennie favoritism" allegations and force more solo projects to happen. This stuff divided the fandom and possibly (but hopefully not) put a strain on the members' chemistry.
So now other companies are following the same trajectory.
Solos used to be "Oh, cool, it's a fun little side quest from this idol we love!" Now it's basically an expectation if you're a member in a popular girl group. That's just my observation.
With that said, out of all the IVE members, I think Yujin has the most potential to make a hit.

Companies back then wouldnt let every members go solo because only one or two of the group is really popular. And they require these members to get even more popular and bring that popularity into the group.
But if you're talking about BP, all 4 of them are popular enough on their own. The gap in popularity is not wide and hence all 4 of them CAN and SHOULD explore solo.
I see no reason why BG members are able to do this while GGs cannot. I do agree, group activities are more important than solos BUT at that point, all 4 of them already passed the level where they can be self-sustain and hence YG couldnt and shouldnt hold them back. It is not like any of them will flop and waste money

I don't think it's possible
they are mixing those Korean and Japanese group releases and also got that Pepsi CF MV at end of June

basically if any of girls would have solo release now with MV it would mean that she will need to work for whole year without any breaks, not to mention it needs to be Wonyoung or Yujin for that first solo of IVE, and they are also brand ambassadors, and will MC some award shows/end year shows as usual
so for now safer bet would be making Liz to work on some OST's to kdrama rom-coms

not every idol needs to or wants to go down the path of being a solo artist - maybe transition into acting or other gigs and some even leave the entertainment industry altogether
-
Not everyone is meant to be a soloist
-
I feel like Yujin has the most potential of the 2 to really break out! She just has that star factor imo and I think nows the time in the peak of their popularity before all these new gen groups take over
Something YG got right was releasing Jennie‘s first solo during BP high. Other companies were a little slow with 3rd gen gg imo and thankfully SM released aespa’s unofficial solos theyre able to benefit from individually and as a group

I agree with the sentiment that not every idol needs to release a solo, especially if they're looking to branch into other fields of entertainment or even want to leave entertainment as a whole. To be honest, there are idols that have released solos that probably shouldn't have done so.

I think it's important especially for idols to have plenty of (at least opportunities for) solo activities during their first contract period - that way when it comes to contract negotiations they stand a much better position should the group not renew
like I've mentioned it before but twice had more solo activities in the first 6 months of their seventh year than the entire prior six years combined - now that might have been good for JYPE but definitely not good for the individual members

maybe I should release a solo next since everyone has to have a solo these days

I blame solo stan Blinks and akgae Blinks for causing this trajectory. Now we get long delays for group activities because companies are scared the fans will claim mistreatment if their favorite members don't get a solo.
Jennie didn't get a proper solo project between 2018 and 2024 because YGE was probably scared Blinks would come for them and tear down the building if Jennie got two promoted solo projects while the other members only had one or none.
It interrupts the flow of things. If a solo is meant to happen, it will happen. Releasing a solo just because it's the new expectation from fans is just not it. It puts the members in an awkward spot, possibly making them think they have to compete with each other for the fans' sake.

obviously there are issues with certain blinks and akgaes but whether an idol releases solo music or not should be completely up to that idol and fans should not question why certain idols release solo music over certain other idols
like for twice for example nayeon's already releases two solo music whilst the other 6 members haven't and there will be certain members of the twice fandom who will question things like but but why does nayeon get to cb before xyz has even debuted etc etc
one cannot change that mentality if certain fans think that way

Nah what we need is more IVE songs
I agree, IVE needs to redeem themselves as a group first before Wonyoung and possibly Yujin can jack off their popularity high again and release solos. If they release solos now at the decline of IVE's career, won't that just spark rumors that IVE will disband and be done as a group soon? 😅

If ive is flopping then the other groups that can't even beat their numbers in tour and sales have already tanked
