I'm very curious to see who these "two most successful active girl groups in the west" are, considering more than two girl groups have made it onto the Hot 100 in recent years, but only two -- neither of which are Le Serrafim -- also have the touring chops and #1 albums to match.

Obviously newjeans and le sserafim. Aespa and ive never charted. Apart from BP and its members, from 3rd gen only twice charted. And as for newer groups only newjeans, fifty fifty, illit and le sserafim.

He said "active," not "4th gen." So it's not very obvious what he meant when he's already including one group that shouldn't make that top two, and I suspect he has another in mind.

BP aren't active atm, members are doing other stuff. The only two groups that have more than one song charted are newjeans and le sserafim. Both groups promoted in the west and performed on festivals. Illit didn't. Not sure about fifty fifty but i assume they didn't.

Eta: i don't think he meant twice (they has multiple songs charted), they are older group, i assume he meant new groups.

You bloody well know what he said, and you also know that success isn't decided solely by Billboard charting. You even have to narrow it down to just the Hot 100, because you know LSRFM don't have a #1 album. That's a small hill to die on.

2 billboard hot 100 entries for le sserafim this year and 0 for newjeans is honestly the most hilarious outcome of this hybe and mhj thing, illit will also have another one in october leaving njs as the only hybe girl group that can't chart their singles on the US. Crazy how newjeans hot 100 charting only lasted 6 months, from ditto to super shy, I want to see for how long can hybe maintain lesserafim and illit entries.
