    Mamamoo has many hits in Korea as a group and individually and all of this while coming from a small non Big 4 agency when they debuted. No Big 4 privilege unlike NMIXX. They have a very popular member with the GP and no one has ever denied their charisma, it's even one of their main strenghts.

    I agree that Nmixx is more talented than RV tbh, aside from Bae all members can support and their worst dancers are better than RV's worst ones. Red Velvet is hard carried by Wendy and Seulgi's talent.


    their music is terrible though and they only really have one visual (Sullyoon) who's not highlighted by their concept. That's what's holding them back unfortunately. Jin(n)i leaving kinda screwed them there, I would bet she was originally meant to be the concept appropriate center/visual/stan attractor but there were obviously issues with her even before debut.


    Same reason why LSF is unlikely to ever reach Aespa/NJ status in Korea, they're all pretty and have trendy music so they do better than Nmixx but Garam was clearly meant to be the Korean stan attractor visual.

    Seulgi and Joy ranking in the lower Top10-20 Gallup rank regions like other ranking TWICE members, and in Seulgi's case as 2nd ranker higher than TWICE's 2nd ranker in 2019.


    I find nothing wrong with describing this as 'Irene, Seulgi and Joy ranked as high and in some cases even higher than TWICE members'.

    Red Velvet, while not really at the level of Blackpink or Twice (at least in terms of sales), were still a top group, so I don't think it's a fair comparison. The issue is that JYPE is now doing relatively poorly with ITZY and NMIXX. They need to figure out what's going on there because it doesn't look like it's an NMIXX issue but a JYPE issue.

    This. I was kinda wondering the same. It felt that JYPE made a great start with ITZY's debut year, but after that they somehow started missing the ball. I haven't really followed JYPE management closely, so no idea if there were changes internally, or if JYP started to run short of killer producers and songwriters.

    But it did make me wonder.


    JYP used to so good with songs for his groups and with branding. But not so much anymore in more recent years, is what it feels like.

    RBW used to promote them in a smart way but not anymore, they don't even try because they want to be more than being "Mamamoo's company" as they are often called in the medias, which proves Mamamoo's popularity and success.

    So you just proved me right. No RV member except Irene has ranked higher than TWICE members. And TWICE always had at least 3 members on the list whereas for RV only Irene was consistent and Seulgi sometimes made it to the bottom half of the list.


    You forgot Jeongyeon in 2017. She was #12.


    'RV members like Irene, Seulgi, and Joy ranked as high and in some cases even higher' is an incorrect statement cuz Seulgi and Joy never matched Tzuyu or Nayeon's peak or ranked as long as them. I wouldn't have quoted you if you just said Irene was more popular cuz that's a fact but you sneaked in Seulgi and Joy too hoping no one would notice so of course I was gonna correct you :pepe-shrug:

    Seulgi has ranked higher than most Twice members. She doesn't need to rank higher than Tzuyu or Nayeon in order to "rank higher than Twice members."
