Do you think 4th gen girl groups can pull off Born pink world tour stats?

  • as I see now IVE and aespa are touring almost the same venues as in your area tour and doing very well. We have to see NJ and lesserafim tour too but I think they can do it, i dont see why not, as they are also popular as the groups above. Gidle also has planned tour and pretty much the same venues. Itzy also were on tour but I couldn't find the stats.

Do you think these ggs can do born pink venues and numbers in a few years?

  • I don't think so. People keep forgetting how blinks as a fandom grew each era and this showed in stats, physical sales and BP ww dominance which eventually translated the highest in their last tour. So what I'm saying is, I don't see this ww growth in others ggs. They don't chart high like BP did, they don't get high streams each cb like BP did, their fandom may grow a little more from now on, but idk if it'll reach the size of blinks level that are big in numbers and super dedicated.

I see 4th gen ggs touring +700k, but even 1M is kinda of a reach as of now. But who knows, everything can happen.

  • never say never my friends

records are meant to be broken

even if a group can't do it now doesn't mean that they won't be able to do it in the future

  • they might be break the ticket sales numbers but those $331m tour numbers, i dont think any other kpop group other than bts can broke those numbers.

just like born pink album sales and female solo album sales, it would take another blackpink/solo albums to dethroned that...

  • I don't see it happening, but someone in the last thread pointed out something in regards to growth in other regions. I was to US-centric. It's possible depending on the K-pop growth in other areas of the world. I think K-pop has peaked in America, but it can still help boost the numbers.

I assume we're including inflation in this.

  • doubt it.

a better question would be which 4th gen GG has the stage presence that BP has? I would say none. The problem with 4th gen GG is that they didn't have to grind and tour and gain that experience. they were already big before they even had to tour.

  • So here is where people find out its more than just numbers that 4th gen groups pull...

It's the song style, it's the members, it's the mvs....

4th gen groups played off the people BTS and BLACKPINK managed to pull into kpop. Both these groups attracted new international fans since Day-1. This is not whats happening with 4th gen, they themselves aren't bringing in new fans through their music... atleast not in large numbers like 3rd gen did.

You can hate Teddy and YG style all you want but their music is appealing to a non fans, their mvs are eye catching... not everyone have to commit to the group but the songs were enough for someone to be curious to check them out... 4th gen is not that... 4th gen is trying to be different, trying to satisfy what 3rd gen didn't give but that's the thing, that's not what attracts new fans...

The biggest set of fans are still loyal to BTS and BLACKPINK and neither of the two groups are slowing down anytime soon.. so these fans checkout 4th generation groups either to have their own horses in the 4th gen race or to listen to "different" type of music than what their main groups offer...

Here is where the members also make a difference... BTS BLACKPINK fans are very loyal to their groups plus also that ONE star member and that isn't going to change anytime soon.. plus all the fanwars during the biggest Era which is 3rd gen also makes them more loyal to that one member and all the stress that comes along with having a bias, so the ones who check out 4th generation groups do so more casually and as soft stans not wanting to get into all fandom stuff...

See this is where it's more of group legacy and members and music that matter more than the company itself...

Plus 3rd gen also helped in peaking maximum interest of new fans into everything korean... movies, drama, KOREA... By now all of us are aware of most things Korean...

Unless BLACKPINK or BTS stops making music, or someone else does something extraordinary you will not see much change...

  • I guess we will see in 3-4 years. But imo I don’t think ppl want to do 60+ shows between comebacks.

I was about to point it out. I've noticed most popular 4th gen groups drop a new world tour every year with 20-30 dates max. Companies seem to priorize doing multiple mini/medium tours than saving demand for a couple of years and do a BIG tour.

So even If a girlgroup reach BLACKPINK level of demand, let's say, I don't even know If we will be able to see them breaking the said group's records, cause the demand might be divided between several tours back to back.

  • Jesus, don't try to rewrite history, please. Sure, BTS and BP are massive just like TWICE, and had a huge impact worldwide, but saying they have a massive impact on the whole Korean entertainment industry is just dumb!

Korean movies and shows were massively popular way before BTS or BP. Most people knew Korean (and even Japanese) movies and shows before they heard about Kpop!

That's why so many people, outside of Asia, think IU is an actress and not a singer.

You're acting like only BTS and BP has a loyal fandom. Most Kpop fans are multi-stans, and that's why many ARMY and BLINKS think these groups don't have a loyal or a big fandom.

Stats don't lie. The most popular 4th gen groups have massive numbers for a reason.

In Kpop the quality of the music comes second. Most new Kpop fans following mainstream groups, not because they're releasing good music, but because they're the most popular ones. There aren't groups like Bigbang or BTS anymore that came from nowhere and became massive. Basically all the mainstream groups nowadays are come from the BIG4.

Kpop was massive before BTS and BP, and it will survive after them as well.

Yup I just checked and their max is 37 shows, this is Ive's number particularly, but isn't it their like 1st big tour? To all groups, I think they might do more shows

  • Yup I just checked and their max is 37 shows, this is Ive's number particularly, but isn't it their like 1st big tour? To all groups, I think they might do more shows

Not really. You need a tour to go on for more than 10 months to have a bigger tour and I don’t think anyone would want that. I don’t think even BGs want that. I’d say like 45 or so at the max maybe possible if they comeback like once a year and that’s it.

  • I don't think so, the market is oversaturated with K-pop, the genre is already on the decline. Why go to a concert when you can record a TikTok and post it online? The same IVE sold the bulk of tickets in Korea and Japan. As a bonus, more and more groups are giving concerts, it is no longer becoming something rare.

  • It is still too early to say because most top 4th gen groups are relatively new! And only Ive are having their 1st world tour among late 4th gen groups! We should at least wait a couple more years!

But by fandom size Aespa is for sure is the biggest! Like look at their MLs(it is relatively smaller) on Spotify or members’ instagram followers! And I doubt they will tour with 60+ shows! But if SM will give them right songs for at least 2 years and good promo they have a chance to be the biggest gg

  • This tour they didn't have us dates and i cant find their last tour stats, do you have link or smth

They only announced only Asian leg of their 2nd world tour Parallel line( they will continue touring in the West after another cb which is scheduled for 4th qrt this year) And they don’t have official overall tour stats for Hyper Line! It is rumoured that they had from 250 to 330k attendees for Hyper Line

  • Not this year. We can check again next year.

I’ll use aespa as example. I’m from Oceania. I noticed that aespa hasn’t sold out their concerts here yet despite the multiple ads (in reddit, etc.) I see in a day.

if not this year or next year then it's gonna be harder because bp gonna have their new world tour late next year.

the bar will get higher than the bornpink one.

This year world tours that i checked are mainly arenas/theatres and in Japan domes
