Seulgi and Jisoo are proof being in the same group doesn't mean others can't be close or closer

  • I saw the first part of Seulgi's vlog with Jisoo and they literally just looked like 2 life long friends spending time together, even though they never had that much time to interact together. Especially compared to other RV members. When Seulgi did the vlog with Wendy they still had a slight vibe of people who know each other well but still keep a polite distance after 10 years, and with Suho, it was even more apparent that they are merely people working in the same company

  • Uhm, I understand your point, but this is kpop where smiling could be seen as something bad so in Wendy's case it's her bandmate and any overreaction from her or "joke" could be seen as something rude, evil, bullying, etc so it's like she felt the pressure bc she knows everything can be taken out of context. Same with Suho, it's a male idol so even showing that they are probably just friends this could lead to rumors and even an apology from her side like... Jisoo is from another group, super near her age and Jisoo herself is super open like blinks know she won't get upset neither will blinks try to create drama scenarios from their interaction.

Anyways, what I'm saying is that kpop idols, unfortunately, act way more cautious towards the ones they directly work bc it could lead to several rumors.

  • Seulgi and Jisoo getting along is proof that idols from different groups can be close. Seulgi and Jisoo getting along isn't suddenly proof that other people aren't close with each other.

The fixation on idols' lack of closeness is guiding you towards irrationality.

  • I will say something that probably will surprise you. Most Kpop Idols are not REAL friends with each other, just co-workers.

But you can't analyze a so called friendship based on ONE video! I follow Velvet since day 1, but I never thought they're not real friends. Not to mention BIG4 groups, even seniors like Velvet can't the way they want, but I'm 110% sure you never watched a single video from RV, because anyone who follows them closely knows, they're not just co-workers.

Nowadays, Idols can't have a normal conversation with each other because kids are toxic as f-ck! Just look at what happened with NMIXX at ISAC, just because they had a conversation with Xdinary Heroes.

  • No, this is not proof of what you claim. The fact that Seulgi can be friends with someone in another group proves absolutely nothing about Suelgi and her own group. Please get a job, and not one in the field of psychology.

It's kind of worded awkward because of the subject line limit, so I'll change it to "Seulgi and Jisoo are proof being in the same group doesn't mean others can't be closer to you", because people will just jump to the conclusion that it means being in the same groups is equal to not being close.

Changed the title of the thread from “Seulgi and Jisoo are proof being in the same group doesn't make you close” to “Seulgi and Jisoo are proof being in the same group doesn't mean others can't be close or closer”.
  • There's various degrees of closeness

Irene and Seulgi are for sure the closest, then Irene x Seulgi x Yeri have more relaxed chemistry. Wendy and Joy vibe with each other better, and Joy with Yeri also have a certain dynamic. I think people like to exaggerate to make their point, either they all love each other or they all hate each other, that's not how reality works. There's always various degrees and situations, respect, tolerance, friendship and love or dislike that exists between people. Two co-workers could be the best buddies while working in the same company, but then never speak to each other again once they leave, not because they hate each other but because they just didn't have a deep connection. It's been seen countless times, once a group disbands the majority of idols never contact or lose touch with each other without effort to interact again.

Sure, but that doesn't mean they're not friends, they just have a closer relationship with someone else. I have a couple of friends and there's only 1 or 2 whom I can talk with about anything, basically.

Also, we can't know for sure if a group is disbanded, the members never met with each other. We can only see what they show, and that's like the 2% of their daily lives.

SNSD is another example. 9 women, but the group have clicks, they all friends, yes, even Jessica, but we all know that there are closer relationships between some of the members.
