Now the past of NewJeans has been revealed, It would be interesting to speculate what would have been if NJ , or whatever its name would have been (I will call it NJ for convenience although it would have had a different name), had debuted with the 7 members.
It is speculated that one of the members cut was Ryu Hanbi, who was put into LeSserafim but was cut again for an unknown reason, and another was Sakurai Miu, now a member of ME:I. I am not good at recognizing faces so I am not 100% sure.
In any case, Attention would have been its debut song. It would have been like GFriend but much better visuals and support.
It is not Source's practice to release two titles at once, so the first album would have had Attention , the second album would have had Hype Boy as the title, the third album would have had Ditto, etc.
Attention would have fought against aespa's Savage and the then 1,342 years old's Strawberry Moon. Given that SM had beaten Savage, which led to a 3 year weak showing of aespa, Attention would have put the old singer to rest and might have claimed a Grand Prize in Melon Awards 2021, which in our history was the beginning of the end for BTS as the 1,342 years old had grabbed it and established herself as a viable foe of BTS once again.
Given that Hype Boy was such a powerful song, it would have made the Song of the Year in 2022, instead of BTS' Dynamite (for the second time since 2020), shoving IVE away.
GFriend's Iggy-Yongbae began to got weaker after the 4th title, Navillera, and 250 began to get weaker with How Sweet , Bubble Gum and Supernatural. However, if Source was running NJ, it would have used someone else after the weak showing of How Sweet.
What would have been New Jeans would have won a Grand Prize in 2022 and would have fought against JK's Seven in 2023. Given that this version of NJ would NOT have been too hostile against BTS, JK would have won in 2023 and NJ would have won in 2024, completely burying a certain 1,345 years old on the process once for all.
What would have been LeSserafim would have been run like how Shinee was run compared to TVXQ, and I don't think Illit would have seen the light of day.
With what would have been New Jeans blocking others back home, and with no alternative against Hybe now viable, it would have dictated the entire Korean entertainment world and maybe BTS would have been able to fight instead of wasting their days.
In the end, Bang putting MHJ in hurt everyone. It did give IVE, LeSserafim and a singer in her 1,340s a new chance, but it did hurt all other Hybe acts. That might be why the 1,340s old singer was so nice to NJ, since if NJ had debuted as scheduled, she would have been out of job by now.
